the noise limit with No limits says 98db. WOW that's low. I have many things booked from weddings to a big op at the start of Oct Due 2nd oct. So only have a few days i can do my last track day. Anyone done Mallory on the weekend and how strict are they with noise. I have a Yoshi R77 with no baffles but I can add baffle but still unsure how loud the can is, Also was thinking of taking the family up on the Fri night, camping with the family an a few friends. Whats the camping like there? close to the paddocks? Main issue stopping me booking this Monday is the noise issues Any info or help on this? Other dates I can do are Donny Noisy day on the 20th Sept but a weekend would be preferred.
There was a post on Facebook by NoLimits that at the last day which was run at 95 db there were far fewer problems than expected and most got out. My tip would be pop the baffle in and book it - or is it stupid loud still with it in? Re camping I would contact the circuit directly to check as its up to them - depends what is on and what security is in place.
I was on that 95db day and yes most got out providing they fitted or altered their baffles........they were strict due to litigation between current track owner fighting court action over a supposed local resident......who has taken it on to lower these possible "weekend days". Parkitt Racing were on hand and helped sort out quiet a few who maybe thought "Malllory aint that Strict" !!.......take some precaution...........you wont be allowed to run unless you pass DB test ! 98db is generally the rule at this track at weekends.......i extended my existing Akro baffle with some smaller bore mild steel tubing ( a half hour quick fix job).......and got through at............95db ! Whos this weekender with cant see one on No limits web site ???? Focused Events.....if so they will be strict and not that bothered if you get on or not.... !
Meant to say......as far as camping goes there are designated areas with the Mallory site........but i believe you can camp out close to track "maybe within the paddock areas" for this type of event....... If you havent been here before......once inside the pit and paddock area with a vehicle you wont get out during track use.....as you use part of of the track to enter site when driving in.... you can walk over bridge though at anytime.....
What i meant to say is from my experiance of using both TDO s......i personally find No limits heads above Focus in their whole approach to the day in general ...... i guess it pays to be prepared for any Track day especially more so if like recently they reduce the DBs to 95......... a few members have recently mentioned that Mallory isnt that strict ?? i can say using this track on a regular basis is that they wont let you through with "Your almost there" ?
First step is to phone no limits today and find out more And cheers re the camping. I was hoping like Anglesey you can camp close to the paddock
just phoned No limits and its deff 98db. I need to check my bike before booking anything now. to see if I can get under 98db. Just a quick question, As I've never had a bike noise checked how do they go about it. I was told it's a static check. with cars track days it's 1 meter at 45 degree angle from the end of the can at 3/4 revs. Would that be the same for a bike noise test?
The bike static test is about the same. My last static test was Oulton in July; they wanted 6K revs. I had my standard road can & it measured 99db.
