I’ll be honest mate, I haven’t done a single mile on the standard seat as the bike was a little tall so changed it in the first couple of days. the lower seat does feel firm, but allows me to get both feet on the floor, good on the fun days but thinking of getting a custom seat made for the first tour on it as can’t imagine it’s going to be that comfortable on a 600 mile day
Do you find much of a difference with the lowered seat? And is it as comfortable as standard? The throttle spacers are definitely a must do mod. Ah cool, yeah there is always a trade off with these things, I was thinking about getting a lower seat, but I find the standard seat is really comfortable and the riding position is perfect for me once I get going. Maybe just leave it for now.
Been a long 10 months but last few weeks I have had time to get on and gradually reassemble. I did find a little more kitty litter and still have about 3 stones inside the exhaust that refuse to be persuaded out! Ended up having to replace LH fork as it had a cracked bottom nut - not sure it results from my spill though. Discovered the header retainer plates had corroded through. Some oxy-acetylene application to remove old studs. Way point yesterday - stickered up the fairings... they better fit! Pics attached
Finally finished putting the farings back on from giving them a rattle can spray job. All set for Jerez in a few weeks.
Hope the wife knows you're using her roasting tray ??? At least you will have 'pre lubed' it for her ready for tomorrows Sunday roast!!
Giving the bike some TLC before this years riding commences. Oil and filter today. Fitting some HEL brake lines next. It definitely needed changing
Do you reckon I'll pass an MOT with these I'm normally a Dunlop fan, but these Bridgestone V02's get good reviews, so I'm gonna give them a go.
No, these were someone else's leftovers from a euro. soft front & medium rear, although for the UK I think a soft rear would be better.
