Back from driving a knackered rust-bucket that is **fanfare** A Ford KA, it was in a rather delicious shade of green, red & dark orange... it was basically green and had one red door and the dark orange, well, that was rust. I hate cars so refuse to spend more than 100 quid on one, apart from the wifes. Six years ago while on my beloved TL1000R (yes I was a Suzuki man) it was written off the usual way by a blind car driver... Most of my wrists are now metal so I thought my 2 wheel ventures were over! It wasn't till the red door on the KA actually fell off while cornering (I was on two wheels at the time) that I thought 'Feck this' !! Along with my 'at the time project' of clearing my loft, I came across my awesome Foggy rep Shark lid complete with iridium blue visor that I actually never got to use.. My juices were flowing.. Oh how I ached... To cut an even longer story I now have a CBR1000RR6 in HRC colours and loving every piggin' minute of it !! Never mind all this 'tuck it away winter malarkey' me & the bike are inseperable .... it's true love damn it ! Paul-b from Camberley wishing you all happy two wheels, the dark side nearly took me but I fought back....
Great introduction Paul. Welcome to 1000rr.co.uk. The trading standards people say that we can no longer tell you that we "don't bite" not since the unfortunate episode of the last northern run. We now insist that all the zombie members stay in Kent though, so there should be no reccurences. Enjoy your stay, stick a pin in your rough location on the members map and get some pictures of your bike posted. Cheers Ken
Hello mate I'm from up the road (basingstoke) and almost made of metal my self lol I tuck mine away in the winter thought to prevent my joints rusting! Maybe see you on the next southern meet/ride when the sun comes out that is
Welcome to the forum Paul and got to be one of the best and different intro's we have had on here again welcome
Welcome to the mad house!! With an intro like that, I know you will fit right in!!! We want pics of the bike!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome guys, its good to be with like minded people, I've been browsing for a few days and it looks a cool place to be! I'm on the members map now just south of Camberley in the leafy suburb of Mytchett... yay ! Pic of the bike should be here .... Not sure if it's come out, if it does you will notice that i'm abslutely pony with a camera and that the red is nowhere near that bright, if it hasn't come out then I guess I'll shut up about it. I have a few jobs to do which involve ebay & powerbronze so all we need now is some sunshine! Happy days....
Martin, Yes it is, a full carbon system, Only problem is - I live in a quiet cul-de-sac! It aint quiet any more..... Seriously, it is wicked, the sound is awesome! The only problem I have is that the dimensions or 'fit' doesn't exactly match the original. This pic shows how it was when I bought it ... Now some may like the exposed heat tape look but I didn't. I was reliably informed by the seller that the heat protector and the plastic trim will no longer fit but the noise will make up for any dissapointment. So, I managed to source a plastic trim as in the 1st photo, I hadn't managed to get the heat shield though .. thinking the tape would protect it, it hasn't. There is a tiny 'melt spot' on the plastic. I have ordered from Powerbronze two heel plates (black paint is wearing off on exsiting ones) and the plastic exhaust trim, obviously in Carbon Fibre. I've also managed to get the proper heat shield of ebay for £6 ... bit grubby but nothing a bit of wire wool & polish cant sort out! Once I have all the bits then I'll see the best way to improve it... I can say though that i'm 100% happy with the Jardine, I can't compare the speed/response of the bike as I've never ridde a stock one? But I do have the paperwork with details of how the engine had to be re-mapped to tie in with the exhaust ... whatever that means? All I know... It's damn fast...
the trim look smuch better mate!! and fcuk the neighbours... more they hate you, the less they talk to you.....
welcome to the worst forum ever! I say this because after youve been here for a few days youll realise there are so many mods and upgrades that you can afford...but you MUUUUST HAVE! lol Seriously tho, welcome to the definitive 1000RR forum.
Welcome Paul, before my current and previous 2 blades I had a TLR in yellow, fantastic bike in my opinion is not a bit heavy.
