If there was no danger of being done for it then I'd have a go, when Im on the IOM I try and go as fast as I can.
Makes me cringe seeing them going that fast without leathers on. Dont think the guy on the suzuki had gloves on!
If there had been another couple of minutes of video, you'd have seen me dicking the Fcukin lot of em
I prefer roundabouts and twisties.I'm about enjoying my ride with things to do and places to go.High speed short blats are ok but not with other vehicles cos they cannot judge your speed. It only takes one dodgy move and its game over. There are far more idiots in other vehicles to worry about.
to answer the post title, could I ... yes easily as there is no skill involved in the riding in that vid. would I.... nope I dont want to share a soap on a rope with a cell buddy.
you say you could easily, but wouldn`t which i assume you havn`t, so how do you know you could ?? Not a lot of skill required I grant you that but you need huge balls or be brain dead or both
I have rode like that in other country's in jeans an a hoodie but, I was young and without a wife and kids. wised up a lot since then.
me to, in this country though... young and very stupid... got caught several times, with a lot of other offences and was given a five year ban, community service & a £1000 fine.. deep joy My excuse was I was 22
I'm not convicted there is any skill involved so one could argue we could all do it, however, we are not all brain dead with a death wish! This sort of behaviour gives bikers a poor reputation making the already hostile police more determined to clamp down. Or do I sound like my father?
hmmmm.... I was getting a shrinky winky just watching that. Control? He certainly seemed in control of the bike, so obviously he can ride, but there are way too many variables evident in that footage to say he was 'in' control of the situation. Firstly, the camera will give you a false sense of perspective and human visual acuity is far superior to the rendering of the video but even so, a single lane change by any of the vehicles he over and under took would have rendered him pizza. And despite our communal hatred of SMIDSY, please, any car driver who saw him in the mirrors would have only done so for a split second, doubtfully not long enough to react. A pothole, road debris, hedgehogs, all invisible at those speeds and also at those speeds, probably fatal. In my opinion then there is the physical control of the bike, which is quite impressive, but sod all control of anything else in the situation. To answer the titular heading then. I wish I could ride like that but still wouldn't if I could.
Have done, albeit in full leathers. As others have said i was a lot younger with better reactions and far superior eyesight. Also i didn't rely on a driving license to survive. Agree with kens comments re: drivers changing lanes, they have absolutely no concept of the speed of the fast approaching SMIDSY seeking missile. Plus, what chance have you at terminal velocity of a last gasp direction change to avoid getting launched into the stratosphere. Yep, done it, but wouldn't do it now. A cat only has 9 lives, i have used up 7/8 already.
I thought you were in debt Blaggs ? Completely agree with your comments, at that speed one error and your toast, you can't expect a driver to see or expect you at those speeds, most don't at normal pace .... or slower !
I rode like that on the autobahn last year but strictly no undertaking after a while you just get neck ache from trying to keep your head down there really is a lot of wind pressure at those speeds. me and my old man kept on noticing flashes from the grey things above the road that resembled cameras and discussed it, we also werent entirely sure of which bits were limited and which werent so we just kept the warp drive engaged for the whole trip lol. could be interesting when we go back this year maybe a good thing ive changed bikes since...
I found the wind gets a bit much when its warp factor nine. Thats why I like the xlite 802 the flap on the back helps With high speed stability but the wind noise is sore on the ears.
