:) Hi Everyone. After over 20 years away from biking, I decided to get back into biking & bought a Triumph Street TripleR earlier this year. My previous bike 20 years ago was a gixer - R 750. I used to like sports bikes but thought i would ease myself gently back into biking. I even went on a rusty rider course in Feb before picking up the Triumph. The Triumph has been a brilliant bike to get myself back into biking; but now i wouldn't mind getting a fireblade. I'll probably carry on with the Triumph this season & in the meantime book myself onto the Ron Haslam Race school. The fireblade seems a nice compact bike & very user friendly from what I hear. I'll probably aim for a nearly new or one year old model. Any comments or thoughts?

Why wait, take you triumph in to Grantham Honda and with interest free credit take a brand new blade off the shelf. Don't wait till next year, life is too short!!!

Don't!! That's my favourite saying. Very tempting. I think I need to continue to get my confidence up on the Triumph first. Someone also mentioned I would really benefit from going on the Ron Haslam course as you can play with the 600RR & fireblades. No doubt I'll want one straight after going on the course.

I think im correct in saying there are 2 seperate ron haslam classes the first you do on the 600 and you must complete this before they let you do the course on the fireblade. go and get yourself a test ride booked and you will soon find out you are already ready for the blade now

What model Street Triple R have you got? New one or underseat pipes model?

New one is supposed to be awesome!

Welcome, get yourself a blade ASAP, a rider passing his test today could ride a blade tomorrow, they are so user friendly and smooth, and will do everything you ask of them. My blade is my rolls Royce and for my hooligan days I have the speed triple r ?

Welcome AA. Man after my own heart. I had a divorce enforced break from my old blade, well, all the toys had to go actually. I brought a brand new 600 in March 2011, but it just didn’t scratch the itch and I rode back to the dealer in June and traded it straight back in for a new ABS blade which I took delivery of in the July. Both the dealer and the current (and hopefully last lady) in my life thought I had lost my mind, which to some degree would be correct diagnoses. Which is why it’s been named Mid Life Crisis 2 on the bottom of the licence plate.
Apparently all bikers are going to burn so we will only be here the once and even if we do come back it will probably be as Boris Johnsons personal assistant or some other nightmare existence so you might as well make the most of it.

If that’s what you want to do and can afford it. Just do it,

I went from a blade RR6 to a Speed Triple..... then wanted...needed ...desired...couldn't live without a blade any longer so had both! Guess what the Speed never left the mancave once the blade arrived. Personal choice of course but go and try a blade for an hour or 2 -3-4- once your out on it the dealer can only sit and wait! Welcome to the forum by the way ;)

I bought a new Street TripleR in Feb - but is the outgoing model. It has been without doubt the best choice to get me back into biking - so small & agile. The only comment is, is that it's hard doing anything over 70mph on a A road - so much wind resistance as you are sat more up right than a sports bike. It's great around town & country twisties
