I have been reading the tyre data thread and have replied to that.......top thread idea Anyway have worn out the qualifiers that came on the bike 2009 model arrow exhaust pcv. I have ridden relatively steady for me, around snowdonia while getting used to the bike (other bike is a very torquey modified buell, so v diff riding style) and untill the tourists piss off. Now its time to get stuck in to some dirty snowdonia scratching None of that weekend afternoon nonsense on busy roads. I'm looking for a tyre that will grip well for properly fast road riding some of which are a bit bumpy. Dont do much wet but occassionally get caught out so mediocre wet grip is fine, will just back off. Will be doing the odd track days at ty croes, anglesey. Would prefer a multi compound tyre so that I get some miles 1500+ ideally from a rear, but know there is a trade off in grip. Are the Dunlop sport smarts as good as cracked up to be. Other recomendations have been pilot power 2cts and pilot power 3's Had bridge stone s20's on the buell and cained a rear in 900 miles so think the middle is too soft (at least for a v twin) good grip otherwise. Sorry for yet another tyre thread but honest objective advise from folks with much more experience of the blade is invaluable when wading thru the mire of tyre bullshit...............the manufacturers will be putting hydroxy lyposomes and pissing nutrilium in them soon telling you that they will make you look and feel as good as the man in the gillete advertand go faster than HRC stickers to boot!!! Thanks Rich
A few of the boys like the Power 3s inc me but there again I think the Michelin 2ct is still a really top tyre and are now reasonable in price .
Does anyone have experience of both the power 3's and the road 3's, Biketyres Leeds are charging the same for a pair and I'm in two minds what to go for, I had 2ct's when they first came out and I liked 'em but it gets harder to choose every year.
I ran Pilot Road 3's for 2.5K miles but found them a little too hard on bumpy roads as they're quite stiff in the middle for a light bike like the Blade. After a long conversation with a Michelin Tech at a DT open day he suggested I swap out to Pure 3's instead saying that the PR3 are better suited to Big mile touring or Peeps who comute their Blades and want good mileage. Just as I was about to order the replacements the Performance Bikes 2013 Top Sports Bike Tyre Test was published which included separate Road and Track tests, both of which were comprehensively won by the Pirelli Rosa Corsa! Been running the Pirellis now for 600 miles and they are a lot comfier over bumpy roads than the PR3's. This mileage also includes a Track Day and they have been 'Mint' to use my daughters favorite saying!

I've had Power Pures (now Power 3's) for a while and they're fantastic tyres. I think there's a large overlap between the two and it'll depend on the riding you're doing as the Powers will suit fast road-riding and trackdays and the Roads will be marginally better if you're planning on riding all through winter. But for me the Powers have been faultless in torrential rain and on Euro roadtrips as well as TDs so if they're the same price I'd go for them every time. Having said that, I'd go for them every time anyway over the Roads but I don't read regularly throughout the harsh winters.
thanks for the advice, anyone got mileage for pirrelli roso corsas (riding stile relevent) also dunlop gp 211 80% of my riding is as near damn possible to Irish national road race speed and style ( not international) I have competed in a fair few and want to do more. So you get the picture, inbetween racing would like something to hone skills on have fun etc but get a few modest miles out of.
