Shing I've done a bit of checking and apparently it is a different part number. Some say 12 s have a different body line and a seat cowl for 11 rubs on a 12 probably not worth posting back and forth if need be. I note you are in Derbyshire. What town are you in. I am in Huddersfield at the weekend, but won't have bike with me.
It is basically the same part for the 12 onwards. Learnt from experience! I had one on my Red RR8 and then bought a 12. I ordered a new Red Seat Cowl and the actual part number on the plastic was identical to the RR8 one. The part number on the box for the 12 onwards was different to the 08 one, but I think the only difference is the later part number has instructions / template for the clear plastic to suit the 12- as well as 08-
I had an 09 and I took the cowl off as it had been signed by John mcguiness. I tried it on my 12 and it fits perfectly. As for marking it , I would say they all do that genuine and copy ones. Only way they aren't gonna mark is if you protect it.
