hi new to this site and was looking for some advice i have a data tool series 2 on my sv and need to reset has it wont respond to fob any ideas greatly appreciated close to using petrol and box of matches ? cheers all
If it's anything like my old Datatool System 3, there is a PIN override code that you use with your key by turning the ignition on and off in a set sequence. If you have that PIN override code you can disable the alarm that way.
Contact Pete Mouncer, just search for The Bike Alarm Man. Send him a e-mail, with your problem. Sorted my meta alarm, after a couple of messages and phone calls.
There is no pin over ride on a series 2 and it has been obsolete for a long time ie pre 1995. I would suggest removal as the best long term option.
Got this off another forum for yu to try The alarm has gone to sleep, this is quite normal and is a feature of many alarms. It does this after a given period, a number of weeks is normal, and it's purpose is to save battery power when the machine is unused for longer periods. Switch on ignition and off again immeditely the alarm will sound so have your finger ready on the fob button, silence the alarm with the off button. Alarm sleep mode will now be reset. No need to do anything daft like 'ripping it out'.
