like they have on some other car forums, could we maybe have A how and model information section? have it set up by model year, then real handy threads can be moved to this section by admin so no need to start trying to search for or post new threads on how to change oil, remove rear pegs etc? of course the rules would be only how to/info/mod guide treads can be posted all others will be moved.
Sounds like your trying to give me more work to do ontop of keeping an eye on you lot Sounds like a good idea but no gixer section Giv
Work has never been your strong point Martin so do a little bit at a time and then just join the dots Ha! I wouldn't be so rude to even consider soiling the hallowed turf so focus on the Blades ,I can always go in the garage for a weep .!
get ken to do it, I know you struggle to even get logged on to this modern technology thingy ma widget
Bloody good comment. I know I'm new here but it does seem that a lot of peeps, when deciding on a differant make and model should consider moving forums, either that or we have a room for them and wean them off. I no longer frequent the Ducati forums
That would make us one of them wannabe elitest forums if only blade owners can use the forum or certain Sections.forums like that don't survive in this facebook dominated interweb world. I use an R1 forum and there was more BMW and Honda owners than anyone else, They made a new linked BMW forum and the members moved over to it, the original Forum is basically dead now with only on average a couple of posts per day :s
Why we added a Other bikes due to the increase in people talking/asking about other bikes. Phantom: if there is enough feedback and use then I think it may be a good addition. maybe a Child Board added to the existing boards. So members can ask about specific models of bikes. But how many are we talking, major updates on the blade ? as year by year would be too many to add. Give me a example so we can see what you think would be ideal?
Im thinking a section titled info/how to guides Sub sections inside that titled 04-05, 06-07, 08-11, 12-13 Then if someone has say a peg removal guide they can Post it in the relevant model year section. No point starting to add say abs non abs sections as Thats too much.
Although they have more models to cover you get the idea here "How To" Guides - Vehicle Related Means that really good guide posts don't get lost in a sea of random Posts.
WTF Its me and other forum members who av made this forum a friendly place to be,meets ,rides out, welcoming new members anyone who joins always gets a warm welcome ive made some good friends o here so to suggest we get weaned off is simply not on,once you get to know the people on here who help each other out go the extra mile for folks then you might understand ....ENJOY OUR FORUM!! Go on Jikerjunkies check ther welcomes out!!! But do agree the site may need to evolve as people move on.
That would limit the opportunities for those of us with pre 08 bikes to poke fun at people having to dismantle their blade to do what's a five minute job for us though.
Regardless of what bikes we Did or didn't own, IMO the forum for me is about the members. Yes I'll agree we all joined because at one point we was either looking at or had indeed acquired a fireblade, and would like to gain some knowledge on it so seems the right place to be. Google said so Right? However, A fact we should not be ignoring is during the time this forum has been running we have had come amongst us some very very clever people, who are a wealth of knowledge pertaining to all things motorcycle and at times some other issues, they offer invaluable advice "usually free of charge" to members new and old. I'd hazard a guess that there's not a corner of the UK where there's not someone who will if needed pull someone out the shit with either their advice or actually meeting up and physically helping out. It would be a shame to lose this resource if they wasn't made to feel welcome anymore just because their taste in manufacturer should change? Over my time here, I've perhaps now met/ridden with 50 plus of the members, a small core perhaps? But it's gone from not just a screen to some great friendships being struck. The one common factor we should not never forget, We're all bikers. Besides, who else are we going to take the Pi55 out of
What Gary said +1 This was the first 1 model bike forum I joined. I have always been on just a bike forum for all bikes. Blade or not, I would not leave if I did no have one. mainly as I've made lots of good mates on here over the years. I intend to get a new bike next year. But keep teh blade for track. So not going anywhere. Anywho, who would keep you lot in check and posting the correct thread on the right board lol and changing usernames haha
