i remember seeing that bike at Oakdene a few years back now nutty, was yours wasnt it? what you do with it in the end? i always thought it was a 500 lump in a 600 frame from quick glance.... got any more info on the build? awesome bike!
Cheers Jimbo ...... yup that was my baby for a couple of years . Originally it was a standard RG500 when I got it . But on the way home I had a few scarry moments with the quite useless brakes so decided to change them at my earliest oportunity . So on the strip down of the fairings to see what I had bought I found that the fairings were as brittle as hell and held together with glue /resin/and botched plastic welding . all this was hidden on the inside where I couldn't see . So I needed brakes and fairings . Well fairing panels are as rare as rocking horse poo . Sooooo a plan was hatched . Lets build a modern RG500 as if Suzuki had stayed faithfull to the breed . So I kept the frame and engine and bought all the rest from a GSXR750 K5/6 . So millions of mods /cuts /tweeks /machining and one off parts later the GSXRG570 was born .
Quality!! I'd love something like that. Although I'd like to shoehorn the lump in a modern frame or a 250 with new swing arm, and front forks!! Just lack the parts, patience and skill lol
Its the noise/ smell of a Gamma/rd500lc v4 that melts my heart.I always stop if I hear a two stroke nearby.Listening to them brings back those memories as a lad starting out on bikes.Fsie, fsie/yb, rd125t, Rd125lc, Rd200, Rd250dx Rd350lc------loved them all.
