Don't be daft mate, I have a friend that also swears by them. Like I said, they look and feel great value for money, just the service that dissapointed me.
Next time your there can you ask why they charge such massive postage for something as simple as a change rod ? £9.50 FFS the rods are a tenner ? Sorry just wandered ?
Guess what i`ve just bought, yep, their rearsets. Haven`t fitted them yet & as i have 3 days left in my current job (engineering, mills & lathes aplenty) i better pull my finger out & try to bodge fit them at the weekend!
I don't think they would prebuild or part build the sets as most places that build these sorta things have everything in plastic shelving bins and depending on the bike they would print out instructions n walk along grabbing different bits from the bins but some parts would be common to every bike. Sorry to hear you guys are having so many issues and worst is the fact that most of it seems to be caused by the owner of the company! Fair enuff they were selling them at a reduced rate but would you really be happy paying the normal retail price of £250 which they have now returned to on there eBay shop! That said reduced rate or not even the new bodyworked blade design has been about for a couple of years now so it's got to be the same design they were shipping before there so called sale so should have any issues ironed out by now! There normal retail price is close to there competitors such as TRW and SES, and a bad word of mouth review is a hard thing for a company to recover from especially with the growing usage and accessibility of the Internet now a bad review is a worldwide bad review!
Dudes The assembly of the rearsets is child's play IMO. If your building a bike from a kit and there's a wheel missing its obvious, if the drawing you have shows a car.........
I'll probably pick my bike up later as it looks like it might dry out over the day and I can have a proper ride and feel for them. Well that and I had a drink yesterday lol
Gilles want tbe best part of £100 to replace one part (which fractured through use, not damaged on track) - thought about these but in the end I'm bolting the original stuff back on. Managed to trash the braided hose in the process (best not to ask...) so the original line will go back on - be interesting how different the bike feels when its all done (prob. today as I need to solder the remains of the original switch back into the loom) Like Navy I also had a beer yesterday!
Al, the gbmoto rear sets are priced at about £190 so if you still wanted an adjustable set for a little more than the previously reduced rate of the non complete diamond rear sets, they could be an option to consider?
Dave have you been out on the bike to try out the rearsets for feel n clock up some miles other than the trip to HM?
Other than the ride to my local office and then home yesterday, nope but they feel loads better with the new rod. Been chucking it down here today but planning on a ride out tomorrow providing the weather sorts itself out.
Navvy that's a nice artistic motion shot for the second pic mate! They do look nice once on the bike pitty about the hassle n fuss to get them that way.
Did you move them much from stock location? I'm sure u may have to fettle about with them after your next longish run out just to find that sweet spot. It's been raining here for weeks with only bursts of sunshine just to give some hope but not enuff to dry the roads out, its also barely gettin into double figures too which is pretty much the reason I called the end to my season n sent tax away for refund. Still got some tinkering time planned in the garage before the cover goes on for last time tho!
I might go up another point so I clear the kickstand and feels good having gone back a point too. Haven't tried it with my boots on yet tho
I know you've had a heap of trouble mat ebut they look great when fitted!! I might order them and ask them to build them up for me then post them out lol
Yeah, I've set them much higher and further back than standard, if you compare Nav and my pictures of the left/gear side you'll notice the difference. I was out on it Wednesday night and my thoughts were these are just not set right, but the replaced and adjusted rod has made a huge difference. I'm no green giant but go six foot just, so the way their set will take getting used to as my knees are loads higher. Thing I do like is they have moved my body position forward, well my head. I have a real bad habit of my arms being too straight, this makes naturally over the tank more/bend my arms a little. So think I may try to get used to my knees being higher and a little uncomfortable now. Soon be time to use the RRA less when the grit starts coming out, but I'll leave it taxed for those odd sunny but fresh days. Roads are so much quieter this time of year down here on Sunday mornings, lucky I have the 929 too that definitely will be used all winter.
I have trial fitted the gear selector side, & as prevoiusly said, some of the fittings are incorrect in the instructions. Cap heads instead of hex,csk instead of buttons & so on. Nothing on there regarding you have to take the sidestand nut off & attach the half turned/half hex to it, but you get there in the end. The instructions need a bit of editing & a few other pointers. Hopefully the brake side will be a breeze
You need to fit two 6mm spacers to rear of brake rearset to be able to use their 45degree exhaust mount, this allows you to line up with OEM fitment
