So today out of the blue myself and Jimbo got a text from Barney which to be honest brought tears to my eyes as I think it's one of the nicest things anyone has done for me.(firebloke has bought me a few ice creams which was nice) Barney has already said he will come to as many races me and Jimbo are doing to take pictures which was awesome but to top that he has offered me and Jimbo a cash sponsorship which at first both me and Jimbo ŵanted to refuse but anyone that knows Barney will know you don't want to upset him and he had mentioned he would be upset if we turned it down. We were never looking for this and still aren't and would love it for people to get involved even just by coming to see us race as we will have a right laugh as most know that do the trackdays it's as much fun on the bikes as it is off. Barney is going to have a website where he will upload all the pictures so people can view them if they want, and me and Jimbo have insisted as a sponsor it's only right for us to have his website name on our bikes ,something that Barney didn't ask for but we wanted to.He also has something else planned to be outside our race tent(gazebo) which will get some laughs . I really hope Barney comes back on the forum as he is a top bloke who just loves everything bikes and I am glad I met him like a load of others of here, and look forward to him been trackside with us , so from me for doing such a nice gesture plus all your other plans THANKYOU SO MUCH MATE you didn't have to.
Nice one Barney, I am made up for you both with this. Barney is one of the most genuine, likeable, honest and friendly guys I have ever met. He has always turned up to watch me race when possible for him, he wouldn't think twice about driving most of the day to get photos of a 1000rr rideout and his withdrawing from this forum is massive and should never have come about. Jase and Jimbo, i am made up for you. Barney, you are a true gent.
For me it's not the amount of cash it's the gesture plus all the other stuff he wants to do for us.top man
As said by Jase, been in touch with Barney over the festive period but was truly shocked when I got a random text from him today, to be honest I was blown away at the offer from Steve as he had already said he would attend to take pictures etc which in itself is just awesome!! Like Jase said, sponsorship isn’t something that even came into my mind so was a bit humbling, and knowing he wouldn’t take no for an answer thought I best accept as I didn’t want to be looking over my shoulder in the pits for the rest of the season lol Anyway, just goes to show what a top bunch are on here (or have been on here ) and I really can’t wait to get the season underway now. As if anything, hopefully it’ll mean we get a chance to catch up with old and new friends because it’s always such a crack at any meet I’ve been on. the kettle will always be on…. Thanks again mate, means so much to even offer and know it was done for no other reason than to try and help some pals out!! True testament to ya fella. Again THANK YOU. All we need now is sponsorship from Kleenex – the tissue bill from Jase crying his eyes out all season is going to be huge!! Ha ha
to get sponsorship is just superb and it will help out no end, no matter what it is. You guys deserve it and I am genuinely made up for you. Racing is an expensive game, so to have Barney come along and offer his knowledge and assistance is just amazing. Top effort.
