No doctors info no blood test but you will need an eye test done get the optician to fill out the section on the ACU membership form then take the ACU forms with you and the correct fee and passport pics then they will send the forms off for you if you want (if you pass :D),I forgot my passport pics so sent myself.

The medical section on the ACU form is self cert so it's just the eye test bit you need done prior to going to do the ACU course.

Once passed and you send you forms off it's within a week you get the license back ,it was for me any way couple of days think it was.

I've been on a 600 for the last 2 seasons, about time I get my own back this year, those smug 1000's blasting past me on the straights to hold me up in the corners...... now I'll just hold them up everywhere :D :D

On the hottrax site it says with all in deal you get the classroom course, on track practical, membershipand eye test all included in the price. Does that mean they do the eye test at the track?

I want to do my ACU this spring, with the aim of doing some Irish National road races, not interested in track stuff, how much does it cost and is there any additional requirements for road racing?
    Thanks

I doubt they'd have a letter board set up on the Start/Finish straight Matey!

More likely they'll av one nailed to a wall in a back office somewhere with a bito tape on the floor at the required distance! ;)

Can't see them requiring much more than that, the Opticians testing looks for early signs of eye problems as well as straight forward vision tests.

Good man, that is my aim too, but you will have to reach National Licence level on circuits (which is classed as road racing), before you will be allowed to hit the Emerald Isle. The minimum time scale is 2 years (first year to get from novice to clubman, the another year to get from that up to national). Getting your national licence is my next goal. Give me a shout if you have any other questions on it, only too happy to help out, plus you are on the doorstep!
