Good to see him get up after that. In any scenario I’m rarely right of the middle of the right most lane, reduces your escape options if things go tits. I take up quite a prominent position on the road but do my best to make sure everyone knows I'm there and control the traffic behind me, normally I'm where I have the best view to pass (if I need to) In this situation I would be ready to ’filter’ pass in the left lane but scrubbed off enough speed that if anyone else did the same thing I could avoid them. The amount of times I’ve seen other riders quickly under take in slowing traffic only to have someone in front pull out is scary, for some reason cars drivers have the natural reaction to change lanes when the flow slows down. But I guess if we all had hindsight…. My mindset when commuting is generally to pass the car in front and keep in the lane with the fastest flow, this is of course with reason and speed limits , I find this keeps me focused and safe Many might disagree but most of my riding is in heavy traffic and this has worked well for me
Same here.. Because i knew there was a crash coming i was convinced the mini would have something to do with it, i sure he may have been doing the same therefore missing the traffic which had come to a halt in front.. So glad to see he's good.....
I hate to say it but i think he seriously needs to think about if biking is right for him, to have two completely avoidable near death experiences in such a short space of time i would think somebody is trying to tell me something But glad to see he is ok and wasn't seriously hurt
