At the end of the day its a Ducati and will shit its self . Today at Rye an 1197 full carbon jobbie .. I think thats what it was , was riding up to the bike park and the front carbon mudguard fell off into the road and his buddy riding behind ran over it . It was in about a million pieces . Shouldn't laugh ..... but I'm sorry to say I did

This is pretty much a 2006 motogp bike (year is off the top of my head) a proper piece of kit and history!! Not much comes close... 1098 r is better though.. So I hear! 1098racer could confirm. But just look at it, stuff of dreams, a lot I'd do to give one a ride!!
Rich had both the d16 and the r as some know, i never got to ride the r but the desmo was awsome! I was lucky and rode one a whole three times thanks to my good mate, it was a scary the first time coz i did not have the 40 k you bend money, i did learn just how good a 10 k honda is but its no desmo, the honda is ace value for money but imo the desmo is worth the 40 k for just the sound, that one has the 7.5 k full system and another mate had his fitted with just that but i never got to have a go with the full termi.. i would have to say any biker who does not like a full 990 cc moto gp rep with gas forks mag wheels full gp carbon body work the v4 all tested 200 bhp at the crank is like a man who does not like women! Well I would love to tell you that is naff! First time I did think the motor lacked grunt, and even when I rode it again on -1 front it still felt a little flat but let me tell you this that time I was unable to take my eye off the road to even glance at the speedo, super super quick with a whopping top end the motor can sing! the bike is roomy and sooooo easy to ride, the clutch is a little grabby but once on the go its a dream with boat loads of drive! The gas forks and huge swing arm and rear shock are plush and the thing just sails over bumps.. would I swap my Honda... No answer..lol. the only reason I would not own one is money, money is the big factor! As said ok ok its a Ducati and it may shite its self as you put it, the motor for a desmo cost 22 k plus vat! So thats what I mean about money, but lets face it Hondas are not 100% and the rr8 has had some owners in tears but at least you can pick up an engine for 1k if you need one...lol Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
^^^ you lucky lucky boy!! Sounds awesome, bit out of my league at the mo, so I'm jealous as hell you've road one! It'd be on my top five rides that... I'll pop round one day for a coffee and you can give me a proper low down.
Mate it was a dream come true, and they put the bike and my comments in the mcn...lol. I also rode another star the rc45 and both will be with me for ever! Thanks to my mate Dave who works at Snells who let me live the dream for a short time I feel very lucky to have been trusted with his pride and joy hes a top bloke one of the best people you could ever meet! The last thing about the desmo is most were sold on as the free three year warantys are now over, shims cost 16.00 each and there are 32 of them to do a full service you have to remove the enging, split the bike in half and remove the heads, the forks are a cheaper ver of fg100's and cost 10k the rear wheel costs 7.5k and is the same as the gp bike, the front is around 3k, the o ring for the gen cover is 300.00!!! And so on...lol the whole body work costs 10k... For those who still dont think its "all that" here is the same bike after a joke that Dave made about "bet you cant wheelie my desmo down the main strip of silverstone" to shakey #67 he did just that and some drifting...lol he said it was better than his wsb althea 1098r and I think he knows a thing or two about bikes...lol Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
I dont lust one but I dont lust expensive cars either but I think maybe its because I could never afford one, the new 1199 I do though because if I really really wanted one I could afford it I just dont. I appreciate it for what it is but I look at it and think it looks like an extra from the film Judge Dredd, however the RSV 4 sounds amazing so I dare not even think what this thing must be like I have only ever seen them in my local Ducastrophie dealership.

I know what your saying ben, my girl says the desmo does nothing for her, but at one point we knew four people who had them, common as muck it would seem, on the other hand she loves my rr7 repsol...lol but then she/we have propper class mate...lol. i did an edit of the last post re shakeys bet..
