Been having this problem with tyre wear it's not hot/cold tear as I am pretty good at checking tyre pressures , but presume it's suspension set up any ideas what's causing it as I don't have a clue on suspension going to ring Kai's tommorow and send them a pic.

Yeah seen it Gaz cheers not sure if it's just down to me doing quite a few trackdays this year with cold track temps and even though I am pushing on track the tyre is not getting as hot as it should do and I am asking to much from it ,there isn't much difference between hot/cold and suspension wear so understanding what's causing it isn't as easy as looking at a picture.

My racetecs I check hot pressures 29 rear /32 front on tyre warmers I wonder with the cold track temps my tyres are cooling down on track and it is actually cold tyre wear maybe worth checking pressures when I come in from a session see what they are then ,my front is wearing ok it's just the rear

Def check pressures coming in mate. Set mine up same as your but in and slowed down the wear a bit. Although mines on stock shock remember....

Suspension needs tweaking IMO but like you not sure what - but also think element of giving it plenty of beans lol

Soooo many at snet were like this, yet ollie in our garage was perfect peel - and he Wasnt hanging around ffs

Sent the picture to my pal who's one of the mechanics at millwauke yam. He said cold tear jase caused by cold track temperatures.. Doesn't look like a suspension issue snd should clean up better when the Tarmac warms . Hard it keep temp in when the Tarmacs cold. Makes a right mess of slicks apparently

Everyone did say snet was harsh on tyres though.

And parkitt reckon the racetecs are the best wearing and consistent tyres though??

Gordon bennett that is squirmingly smudged.I'd say too soft on the rear rebound, holding the side of the tyre too long in the corners.Does the front feel abit washy on exit does it feel like it is sliding away? If so rear is too soft.
Rebound up a touch on the rear I'd say.You have a trackday day to experiment I'd use that to get the rear sorted.
unless the track is cold causing cold tearing.Warm track you need mate.

Suspension guy I asked said it wasn't suspension is off as you'd see a curved wear line. Just giving it plenty of stick / track temp / maybe a little pressure tweak and suspension, but in particular snet as big big right handers.l

Front end solid as a rock, and driving smooth out of corners????

That was new on in morning and done less than 30 laps lol

I think once track temps are warmer then will look at it again but will start checking pressures more when I come in while track is cold .

Def! Although sunny temps are still way off and was going harder than I've ever rode at weekend.

Everyone said it'll improve on the slower less abrasive tracks. Fingers crossed as I destroyed 3 rears on 3 days :(

And the good news Jimbo, Cadwell is very kind to tyres so I was told today from the tyre guy I have only been there once so wasn't sure so hopefully we can have more than just bread and water for dinner.lol

Don't think the bread and water would do me any harm!!

But it'll be good to get some more use out of our new BBQ ;)

Also heard that mate. So hopefully it'll be a bit easier on the wallet :)

Thats movement as I understand it under load.Too soft rebound on exits.Hence the waves on the tyre.Interesting subject this because it gives us good feedback as to what the rear is doing.

Yup, totally agree mate - but not what mine and jase's looks like so don't think it is suspension that's way off... Just combination of pressure / track temps / hamfistedness lol

Try adjusting the pressures a tadge Jase?

    I run my Ractecs at 25 R and 28 F Cold
28 R 31 F Hot on a Cold Track as recommended by the Big Yella Pirelli Truck Tyre Boad
