Mine is due for its first service, but I would dearly love to do it myself!
Nothing in there that I can't do and ill do it with more love and tlc than any Honda dealer and know that it was done properly...
    BUT
Will it screw my warranty if I do it myself, if anyone really knows I would love to know for sure.
Its not about the money as its not too bad for first one, its a lovely easter weekend and I have time off and would love to do it.
any help would be great thanks.
    :)

I know what you mean zipster but like you say it's not that expensive a service so I wouldn't risk it.

Well I rang my local Honda dealer and asked them straight.
"being entirely honest with you sir, as long as you use honda parts i.e. filter and recommended oil Castrol power 1 racing. your warrant will be fine!"
    I was amazed and chuffed.

TBH they don't really have a leg to stand on any more as far as forcing you to use them for servicing... HOWEVER... I think any warranty claim in the future would be subject to more humming and harring where it could be questionable as to why something failed...

I used to service all my own stuff when I was young (And broke and had lots of spare time). But its just not economic any more... Nowadays, you can earn money faster than Honda charge for servicing. Certainly I can earn it much faster than the savings I'd make from any labor time I'd make back from it... And I have far more interesting things to do that try to get fireblade fairings back on in one piece...
