    Maybe a stupid question!

Just been looking at the workshop manual, and when removing the front wheel you remove the calipers, fine...

BUT, upon installation it states "Install new mounting bolts" - Are these one time use only?!

    Please advise.

As we don't live in an ideal world then just use the same ones upon installation.

Think it was scooby that hit this one on the head.
Imagine doing a track day and changing wheels 4-5 times a day. Pretty expensive day if you was to replace bolts each time.
As said, reuse and Just take care to check the condition And do not over tighten. :)

I remove my calipers quite frequently to clean and service, never changed the bolts though.

However on installation I only use silver grease on that bolt and torque to specified.

    Christ on a bike!

*insert Honda dealer here* had done up the front caliper bolts to what felt like 100nm... AND had used bearing seal or Threadlocker all the way up the bolt.

Ended up using a tap to chase it out it was so bad.

    All good now though :)

Similar experience here, Honda dealer replaced my starter a few months back so had to remove my crash bungs ( that use the engine mount) and fairings. Had to remove the fairings myself the other day, the bungs must have been torqued up by the Hulk on a bad day!
No damage done luckily, silver greased and re-torqued correctly!

Wouldn't use copper slip or grease on caliper bolts personally... Blue loctite for them bad boys !

Never had a problem with copper grease, know mechanics that also use copper grease for the mounting bolts :)

For some reason I thought you weren't supposed to use any grease type stuff if you were going to torque it :dunno:

The amount of times caliper bolts and done up and removed on Track Bike, the last thing U want is lock-tight!

Tiz a good idea to but new ones every year on a Tracker IMHO
