Well after my high side the other day at Cadwell I broke off my left peg. I was lucky enough that some bloke had a spare that I could use to carry on. But after calling up diamond today and asking them if they did replacement parts for the sets to my shock the dude said no! they only do spare pegs and shift rods Can some one tell me why they would not do spare everything ???? which would make sense because if I managed to bend the bracket the peg bolts onto and the bit of alloy the gear change leaver bolts onto with one crash then surly there has to be loads of racers that have had similar crashes and god forbid broke any of these parts because you have to replace the whole set every time you want anything more than pegs or a shift rod Now yes I know I can probably heat the parts up and bend them straight and just make do with it but for a start the hole my peg bolts through is elongated, and what if I dont have oxi in my garage just to heat up the parts and bend them straight. What if I just want to pay for new parts I have to say when I first received them I was very pleased with the price and function but due to the lack of spare anything I defiantly do not recommend these to anyone I would rather buy the cheap Chinese ones and not be disappointed if they bend or snap.
Precisely why I use Bonamici Rearsets. Every last nut n bolt is available as a spare. They are well sturdy too! After my recent crash nothing snapped even though my bike rolled a few times, it just bent a Peg bracket that's all! https://www.speedycom.co.uk/shop/home.php?cat=611&sort=orderby&sort_direction=0&page=2
Gutted to be honest I just assumed I would be able to get the parts. At first when I seen the bad and good reviews on here about them I just dismissed a lot of them but now no way will I buy any of there products that includes everything they sell on that site, after this one high side and that's £150 down the pan. Its a god job I can heat the brackets up and bend them straight. If it happens again there coming straight off the bike
diamond seem to lean more towards the cheap and cheerfull, break it bin it type of thing. (although not the cheapesrt out there) try putting it into a vice and clamping it up,wont break it,but might straighten it
I've got gilles vcr on my bike which have spares for every bit which you can get through calsport, Expensive to buy but good service and quality parts
Agreed lads diamond are crap and ill get down to my mates engineering workshop and get the heat onto it, dont really want to change them for the sake of it just yet. Also dont fancy the risk of them possibly snapping. At £250 standard who would have thought they were that bad if they were always £150 then fine yeah there cheap but £250+9 postage I would be sending them back via house brick postage through there shop window
