I'm new to blades... and find the throttle isn't smooth when going from say open throttle to closed then to open throttle... for example coming on to a roundabout. It's just a tiny bit abrupt as it comes on open throttle... my old R1 didn't do this (fuel injection too) ... just feels a little snatchy?

Anything I can do about this? ... will it improve (the bike is low mileage) or do I need mapping?

If the bike is standard, then this is pretty much normal. Get yourself a power commander, and get it mapped. And it would be criminal to do this without a nice new shiny/loud exhaust!

I had the same with 2014 blade. From closed to open it was very snatchy . Now with a racefit slip on its so much better.

It's bog standard and being a Honda I thought it would be spot on... On throttle it's fine ... Just at low rpms through traffic and on - off throttle it stumbles ... Proper annoying!

May look into mapping options ... I assume has to be done with PCV?

Try the free stuff first, adjust the throttle free play and chain slack makes a lot of difference if then are not adjusted properly.
Maybe even try a ECU reset or disable the O2 sensor and see if it runs better.

I have a standard setup with a PCV and it runs ultra smooth even at a snail's pace.

How much throttle play is best to run? ... I did notice there is very little play in the throttle!

I'm eyeing up PCV's at the moment... :)

Looks to like to do the ECU Adaption you need to disconnect the battery for 2-3 hours ... connect then let the bike run for 10 mins without touching the throttle.

    Disconnect battery
    Reconnect after at least 10min
Start up without touching the throttle
Let to run until the fan kicks in turns off again (should turn on about 103C)
flick the kill switch off then on again

My throttle freeplay is about 4-5mm. It doesn't help if your chain slack is +/- 15mm from the slackest to the tightest point.

    Thank you sir. Most helpful...

The chain is spot on ... and only done 3000 miles ... throttle freeplay is pretty much non-existent ... I'd sat 1-2mm max... so loosening that off a bit would be a good idea?

Do you adjust the top or bottom adjuster on the cables?

I need to find out how to remove the seat... ahem :)

    this demostrates it nicely.

To remove seat you need to pull off the plastic covers under each side of the seat, should then be 1 screw each side to loosen then bingo!

Battery (positive terminal) disconnected for an hour whilst I was doing other jobs on the bike... fired up and left idling till the fans cut in... then switched off.

This morning the bike seems much smoother. Not 100% but certainly much better.

    :)
