Nothing better than going out to the cave for a couple of hours at night and getting away from the rat race..

Been in / out the garage last couple of weeks trying to get stuck into the winter maintenance / upgrades. Got most things scratched off the list, just a couple left for my '06. Still got a few left for Danny's SP that "lives" with us :)

    Carbon '06
Oil / Filter change after knock hill in September - Done
New K&N Air filters, BMC Race filters letting too much fine dust through into the airbox - Done
New rear brake line and underslung Brembo rear caliper & new pads - Done
New HM Dash fitted c/w custom carbon dash mount plate :)
Evans Waterless coolant (and pre-flush) - done
LED Indicator relay interfered with the Dash - so resistors in today, done
New HM PLUS Quickshifter fitted (issues with the GP so changed for the PLUS) - done
Full Titanium Arrow system fitted (with custom link pipe) and refurbished silencer - done
Removed rear under seat heat shield - used heat reflective matting under the seat etc - done
Sprinkling of new Titanium bolts on - but full engine kit ordered so not finished here
New brake fluid all through after the knock hill track day Sept - done
service forks.. got a fine mist of oil on the front right fork.. so the seals will need replacing and new oil for this year - pending

    Danny's SP
Well he couldn't see green cheese.. HM Dash - Fitted and fully working in about 20 mins.. helps its plug 'n' play
New 520 Chain / sprockets and went down -1 tooth on the front
New Brembo Clutch lever & perch
New Brembo 17RCS master cylinder & reservoir (to be fitted as we are going to change all the ABS lines to braided)
    replaced damaged RHS mirror
    New Brembo Brake pads
going to remove the headers and "insulate" the ABS front power unit from the heat - pending
few cosmetic touch ups after the SP met the kitty litter

A few pics are always nice :)

What size did U go for Gilesy on the Supertec R's compared to your standard shoe size?

Read a few Peeps who've ordered too big as these boots tend to be on the roomy size compared to other manuf's?

    Cheers Scoobs,

I'm tempted to try out the FC Moto deal to see if it still works!

I'm a 9 all day long normally in work shoes etc.. but ordered a 44 (same as I had my previous Alpine boots). Once you have a pair of normal socks on, and they are done up, they fit almost perfect.. haha I sat with them on the other night for about 1.5hrs.. couldn't believe how comfy they were.. wife shook her head.. :)

Looking good gilesy, I have a new mod for the list! RR8 onwards side stand. I can tell from your pic the current side stand is the same as my old 900 side stand. RR8 is alloy and much lighter than the steel ones :) bolt pattern is also identical so easy mod.

Great point John.. Did think of this in the summer but got sidetracked.. I'll maybe 'borrow' the SP one to try it first :)

Yes it's a good mod, the steel one is heavy! One thing to watch, the side stand switch could be wired backwards compared to the rr6 it certainly was to the rr4 caught me out. would cut out when the side stand went up!

Think the steel one is shorter as well?

Ie the alloy one stands the bike more upright

Hmm yeah could be.. Mine was allways to short so the rr8 one was perfect. Could be worth swapping them over to see how it sits :)

Just remember not to put the weight of the bike on the alloy stand as it will bend. When I bought my 2014 the dealer told me its the main bike they can't tilt and turn around in the shop because of this, so you can't oil your chain when touring by tilting the bike to rotate the rear wheel.

I've never thought it a good idea to use a sidestand for Tilt & Turn manouvers or to sit on a bike with both feet on the pegs when on a sidestand, so I do neither.

They are designed to prop the bike up only, and no more.
