As tittle I wanted to fit my new plugs and quickshifter today's as I've finely got the linkage rod, so took off tank cover and lifted tank thinking only the air box to go.. Which on all other bikes I've had have been simple and the air box comes off in one lump! I now reliese u have to strip the air box to get it off?! Or is there an easyier way? In the pic is how far I got lol I decided I'd better read the manual before digging in further!
No easy way I'm afraid. I struggled first time I stripped my 06 down. The hard bit is getting the air intake out which sits above the plugs.
Hi, these may help? I watched Arthur fit mine and I was glad I wasn't in my garage on my own! Good luck, take your time and you'll be fine. You should stick one of these bad boys in and do pairs mod when you have it stripped that far down. I stripped mine down a few months ago. I was going to change my plugs but was told they last 40K, so i didnt. you might have to drop your raidiator, dont drain it or remove any hoses just take off the fairing and the infils then undo the rad off the hangers and let it drop.
I was going to check valve clearances myself too but think I might give Arthur off here a ring for a quote to put plugs in when checking the clearances...
it is indeed a spondon.basically the wheel slides out, leaving the caliper, disc rear sprocket and chain in place,it's the ultimate quick release system (i donthave it anymore though, went when i broke into parts to sell.)
Harris can modify you existing swingarm to do the same. If I had a spare £1500 kicking about, I'd get mine done. But I dont, so I won't lol. Maybe one day
I didn't think harris did the full sprocket retaining, just thought it was the under slung caliper? you need modified wheels to be able to do the sprocket retention aswell,it's an issue I had when selling this bike as the wheels,as good as they were, had to go with this swingarm, they wouldn't fit anything else (they was a special order made by dymag)
