Hi Guys Just got home to find my Honda original black seat cowl decided to jump ship somewhere on the A21 on the way home. 08-11- has anyone got one in good nick I can buy please. What a top bloke - thanks. Right here's the story - feeling really pissed off and with my family settling down for Big Brother ( I know -it's embarrassing) I decided to go and look for it. The good shepherd and all that. So it's a 14 mile each way trip to my office but I stopped for gas half way it was there then, so call it 7 half that is triple carriage centre reservation so basically if it's on that it is road kill. Or I will be if I try and get it, even if I spot it in the dark with everyone barrelling past. So I go for it 2 mins after my post, without much hope. Just as I get to the last turning onto the Blackwall tunnel approach at 5 mph full beam, I see a blob in the road... Next to a van sticking out into the middle of the lane. It looks like my cowl! It is! WOW! Just a mile and a wheelie ( one of mine anyway) from the front door! Unfortunately, while it's way better and far less damaged than I can reasonably expect, it's been clipped and is quite scratched up on one side and the support retainer on the rear has been cracked. So I thought I'd tell you guys, I'm pretty chuffed to get it back, a bit angry I did nt secure it properly and wondering if I had nt wasted 15 mins pondering that it was nt worth it trying to get it back, it may not have been clipped, probably by a very light vehicle ( Pizza bike?) as a car would have trashed it. Damn I really need those rubber retainers to hold it in place, does anyone know if those Chinese copies have these, I tried to make a set but it was pretty sad. They fell off. Thanks very much guys I really appreciate it. If anyone has a good spare shout me, ( or that rubber strip kit ) but she fits back on and is nt too bad at all. I will get polishing tomorrow to see if it can't be buffed up! Thank you Gary
Nice one on finding it in the dark. Give it a good clean up and as you say may turn up. See if Yorkshire Gooner has one. Not sure if the China ones will have all the rubber clips etc but their quality has improved recently
