Hi all, still new to this forum so hope this is in the right place. I changed my tyres today for a set of Bridgestone T30's. All put together & torqued up but now the front brakes are binding. The rear is fine. I can turn the wheel but can't spin it! It's a 2009 with ABS. They were fine before & I didnt touch the brake lever while I had the wheels out...

Any help would be really appreciated.

Sounds like the front end isn't bolted up properly...

Did you tighten the bolts up on the paddock stand by chance?

You have tightened the front wheel bolts in wrong order, check the manual.

As folk have said, take the wheel off and go through it again, you may have missed something or got the wheel spacers the wrong way round.

as said the order of torquing is very important to seat the axle correctly!

Yep, I put it all back together on paddock stands. Does that make a difference then? Wasn't sure of the order. The bikes new to me so havn't got a manual yet. Was hoping to pick one up at the show this weekend. I'll take it all apart & give it another go & do the torquing with the wheel on the ground.
Looking at the pic above, I think I have put the collars the wrong way round!

Take a close look, it is poss to put the front wheel in the wrong way round but it puts the caliper offset out! The tyre maybe on the wrong way round then it looks like the wheel is correct, look for the arrow on the casting of the wheel, seen this before from someone who fitted it as I say!

Just had a look, definitely got the wheel right as the ABS ring is next to the sensor. At least I got one thing right:rolleyes:

Loosen the axle bolt and pinch bolts. Tighten the left side pinch bolts. Tighten the axle bolt. Loosen the left side pinch bolts again. Tighten the right side pinch bolts. Remove the front stand, putting the front wheel on the ground and pump the fork up and down several times to seat the axle. Tighten the left pinch bolts.

Right, all done. Has defiantly freed the wheel up. The pads are still rubbing a bit but not binding & can spin the wheel. I think it'll loosen up some more after riding. Thanks for all of the help chaps!
