No TC module and he says he paid 780 dollars? must have been ripped lol. Dan, just remember i can get a brand new full set up for sub 500 quid with everything including the map switch and led shift light. and thats including shipping from the states.
doesnt say its the TC one. as i said dan, they dont go for much less than full uk retail, your better off getting one through the yanks at way less than uk money.
Ah rite .. No point in that then as i have PCV and not bothered about self mapping . Ill save up and go the full hog with craig when he buys his .. Go on Craig .. You know you want it mate
# Like a PC but better with lots of gadgets on Craig. you can get them for £500? I was hoping to get the all singing and dancing next spring and get it set up on a dyno, custom maps etc... Would their be any issues buying one from you and taking to somewhere else to get it fitted and set up? Also warranty? if I bought it from you and got a problem who do I call? Not the ghostbusters before anyone says
Im just thinking...group buy lol! Dan, im going to wait for the shifter upgrade, its due anytime soon and im going for it once thats released, if you want to wait until then i can arrange for us to get ours at same time? Matt, no issues, as they are coming from USA they are actually coming from Bazzaz themselves, and when yo set it up & dyno run it all settings wil be ok for english use anyway, similar to Power commander in that its only the market code thats different, the product & software is the same. Our very own Rich C bought his from the same source for a non yankee bike and it runs spot on, as do the 2 others i got for other folk.
CC what do you think about the cons of Bazzaz? I have not had much to do with it mainly as I am a DynoJet dealer (small) but I did fit one and run it up and have seen a few on customers bikes, the problem I have with it is that my local Dyno chap will not map it, well he would but he don't like too, I also fit a number of other systems like Nemesis and Tuneboy and he feels the same with them I guess its just a software familiarity thing.. But on track I think the DynoJet mobile dyno may not want to map it after all they are in the game for DynoJet as are the tune centres dotted around the UK? Also it only maps each 500rpm (and starts at 3000???) and not each 250 like the PCV and I find the loom HUGE and hard to place as do I the very large FI module unlike the very small PCV and narrow loom (not a problem on some bikes but Ducati..mmm). I know they brag about all 8 injectors but on a stock motor its irrelevant and should you have a motor that needs the secondary injectors mapped you can fit the DJ SFM after all in that case the motor will be in a high state of tune such as big bore, turbo, nitro etc etc I mean HIGH to need it. As for the quickshifter (this one not any they may have planned) its proved to be a pain, people don't like it and its not 100% by far, also the shift sensor only works one way and they want $$$'s to change it also some people needed spares (on public forums) and they would only sell the whole kit no spares! However I am not a fan of the DJ shifter the only shifter is the HM plus and the joy of that is it works 100% and is stand alone, it does not need different kill times for each gear and that seems to be the only selling point for the Bazzaz shifter and again its irrelevant and not needed if it was the HM would support it. And the traction control, do people need it? Honda don't think so and the S1000RR and RSV4 just seemed hindered by it when pitted against older bike with no rider aids, ok ok I like the look of it but is it just for show? When you think time and time again I see an S1000RR that can not out drag a K6 GSXR with the rider aids TC and AW but when switched off its even worse you just cant ride the thing.. a lot to be said for a smooth motor with no TC. Just some of my thoughts mate..
I agree it has some 'Cons' But for a first effort, its dam good, can you remember the faults with early pc usb's? The thing i am encouraged by is they know what the problems are and are rectifying them, i too have heard of folk having issues, and HPS (uk distrib) not dealing with it, however one chap who i set one up for had his whole unit fail, HPS said no, 2 days later he phoned Bazzaz themsleves who shiped an entire new unit form him that same day. As for Dyno's, FW Developments will dyno them, and its the same company afterall, i know BSD, JT's and 2 or 3 others all dyno them, the most popular Dyno place for fitting & setting up of Bazzaz seems to be MSG Racing who build no end of racebikes. I agree at the 250/500 rpm thing, but as you will know, that really is splitting hairs, most dyno ops will only set up to 500rpm intervals anyway, yes the loom is large, but then again you have a lot of hardware, unlike the PC5. Dont get me wrong, if i had the cash i would have the nemesis set up like a shot, primarily as it runs off wheel spoeed sensors and not just rev 'spiking' as the bazzaz does, i would also be straight on the phone to DJUK if it emerged that dynojet were developing an aftermarket TC/FI system, i am actually surprised they havent, given the PC5's expansion port capabilities and its high processing power. Overall, the Bazzaz is a great bit of kit, it does work and the outside 'equipment' ie map switch, shift light etc, looks much neater and more professional then the DJ ones (have you seen the huge DJ dual map switch lol) All the individual systems have issues, but if i could have a set up from all 3, id run the PC5 with Nemesis Wheel Speed Sensors and Bazzaz TC unit, that would be a fantastic set up!
Good call, I agree fully.. I also agree that its good and about time DJ had some competition in the same price range.. They have said nothing in regards to TC but an age ago did tell me they were doing a "sorted" shifter but its never happened. Just need to add that Nemesis is the plumbs! Are you saying I have to find another map switch for my Honda....lol Its naff I know.....lol My Ducati is pending Nemesis and some of the features are the nuts, simple things like once the motor is started the start button toggles the map...simples....lol
Ive been fortunate to have first hand experience with all 3, plus the HRC Kitc ECU & TC setup on the 09 blade, i think the nemesis is a fantastic bit of kit, and it was the only set up to help my mate with Frankenduke (his 1098r powered 996 Racebike) the only thing i dont like is the 'dash' for it, it just looks too 'last minute' for me. but the software itself is the muts nuts. I think the next gen Bazzaz will be brilliant, reading the bazzaz forum & a few US forums last night after we talked i found out they are looking at Launch control & wheel speed sensors, but no actual confirmation of it. the launch control one would be interested as that would mean add on capability for Potentiometers etc.
Nice, I love development of good products, imo thats the key to getting it perfect, DJ seem slow at moving products on and that lets the whole thing down.. Be interested to see what happens..
It would be interesting to see how development was pushed on if DJUK were allowed to take part in developing new products, with the dyno & FW and FW JR's race experienc, plus collaborations with Paul Birds lot, we would see some great stuff.
I think so! Thats half the problem with DJ they have here and there! They lack a little interest in development and suggestions and ideas I have sent them never get answers, the only time I had a moment of there time was with the PCV and RR7's, thats it! Shame..
