OK, dumb ass question so apologies. I have never used a head-stock stand and am fed up of struggling with a normal front paddock stand, they are OK but you have to have it perfectly aligned otherwise it falls off (I've nearly taken my fingers off a few times!), So, I have decided to buy a head-stock stand as I have a lot of maintenance I am planning on doing over the weekend and I think longer term it'll make things much easier. Can anyone tell me the pin size that I'll need and what are peoples general thoughts on them? I'm assuming there are no horror stories?
I can't tell you the size at the moment for my 11 plate blade. But can say they are bloody good. been using mine for years. The only thing I will say is if your using a ABBA stand it will drop the back wheel to the ground as it lifts the front nice and high. I got ride of my ABBA stand as i prefered a headstock stand and rear bobbing type paddock stand. Only thing to be careful of with mine is the brake lines as they can get in the way but only a little. I would not use anything else. One recommendation is harris stands. I have the rear but if I was getting a new headstock stand it would only be Harris due to the quality of the stand. Yes they are a little more expensive but will last a lifetime. HARRIS RACE FRONT UNDER-YOKE TYPE PADDOCK STAND http://www.harris-performance.com/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Harris_Paddock_Stands_8.html
