i'd try anything once deffo not pushing for open pit though, you can sometimes lose time.they only make sense later in the afternoon when people start to tail off.
Definitely grouped and with transponders. Did a day at Silverstone a while ago that didn't stop for lunch and ran through but finished early and I liked that.
i tend to find that open pit lane are used by people that have had a fair bit of experience on track days ,there are a lot less stoppages due to crashes and once the initial first time rush out onto the track is over and done with ,you get a lot less bikes all on track at the same time . i have done plenty of sessions where there have been about 10 bikes on track at any one time. You also don't have to put tyre warmers on as much ,as you don't have to sit around for half an hour between sessions , less cold tyres = less crashes ,as on a normal track day people without tyre warmers are spending 2 laps warming tyres, whilst the bikes with tyre warmers are belting round at top speed straight from the off .
I know some people won't use certain companies due to bad experiences, but most people I know are happy to go with most companies if the dates tie in with their plans. As for me, well if you do novice days at Cadwell with better control than most offer then I will give you a go.
I would happily use a new company. Nothing wrong with NL, but the more the merrier in my opinion. Transponder hire would be a good addition too. Open pit lanes can be hit and miss really, yes you can get more tracktime, but the downside is that you can such massive mix of abilities.
Not much I would change with the provider I always use... no limits are spot on for my needs really. Only thing that would ever tempt me away would be price And general attitude towards there customers. had a bad experience with focused events and never used them since. Neither have any of my mates.... Their loss for being arses!
FE.......effing bunch of tosspots and I wont ever use them again.....run by a complete cock !! ahem..... enough said ! lol
The more the merrier. Get some decent track instructors - a recent track day I was on they were more interested in showing off how fast they were and chatting with their mates than helping anyone.
