A week ago I took the plunge and ordered a Brembo rear calliper and mounting kit for my RR7 from this company, motorcycletoystore.com, in the U.S. Got the confirmation of order details etc with the usual note about getting a notification when the order is despatched. Like I said, that was eight days ago. Monday I emailed their sales dept. requesting an update on my order, ie: is it in stock, if not some idea of lead time etc etc. As yet still no reply, what makes my concerned is whilst on nights last night I googled them and customer reviews. It doesn't look great, with reports of long delays, orders not being filled and the company trying to charge a handling fee for orders they haven't even sent out. So what to do ?? Do I wait another week to see if I get any news or do I email them again and see if they respond then cancel and contact the credit card company for a refund ASAP if they don't
Strike first, call the credit card company. If they are interested they will soon get in touch to ask why payment has been withdrawn.
Give them a ring see what the situation is, but the good advice is (whatever you do) move quickly, wait and see is a path to pain. Mike.
Well I sent a second email asking for an update, stating that this was the second request I'd sent. Just got an email back with the order updated to "awaiting shipping..We have accepted your order and are in the process of ordering your parts or just haven't given it to the shipping company yet." So not out of the woods yet but at least they replied
I think from memory @kev.b ended up cancelling his order from these guys as they simply didn't have stock to send out..
From their awaiting shipping notice, it seems like they are a re-seller, buying in to fill orders, I have a sneaking suspicion that as it's for "an older blade" RR7, that the kit is going to be that much harder for them to get hold of and even more difficult at the price. Gonna give them till this Monday to get it shipped, if not then a cancel order email will be getting sent . I don't mind waiting as long as the vendor is up front about any delays with good communication, but vague notices like they use is BS in this day and age.
