Seen a couple of you comment on this helmet, I'm about due for a replacement and was considering Shoei NXR, but with online discounts the HJC is almost half the price, its not a make I have considered before. Any comments appreciated .
If it fits go for it. I was going to buy the NXR until I tried the HJC on and it fit just that bit better. Only had it a month but no complaints so far, intercom fitted and feels so comfy.
I've got the non + version and like it so much I bought another at the NEC today as the prices are falling rapidly while retailers prepare for the launch of the RP-HA11
Been using the 10+ for a few years now and can't fault it! Nice and light ,not too much noise and at £150 ish can't go wrong
I have the 10+ Lorenzo and the 10 Ben Spies Texas. Absolutely amazing and light (the 10 was lighter than the plus ironically). I've have the XR1000 and 1100 and there's no comparison. The Shoei's were nice but this lid is much better quality and fit.
£119 for this today as the last one that Lids Direct had before the 11 arrives. Perfect for the track as I can keep my Ben Spies rep for the road.
Great lids.... Had couple arai's (still got one) and x spirit 2.... Hjc isn't quite as good quality IMO, but fit is great and for the price a top quality product.
Great lid! Price is what i went for and is up there with the rest. I only bought mine a few months back so i'll see how long it will last.
Cant fault the lid........perfect fit for me and although I use earplugs found this lid far quieter than my previous Arai..... plus no more broken side pods when changing visors (what a bitch of a job)...... but we all have different bonce sizes.....so its not just about who's is better...... try them first then buy via online for the better deals.....
You wont be dissapointed mate. Superbike School are sponsored by them too so as a brand is worth having a look.
My brother has the HJC 10+ carbon. First time on he lifted the visor up while riding and it came off in his hand, luckily he had hold of it or it would have been down the road. We tried it when we stopped and sure enough if you lift the visor up too far it just comes off really easily, seems a strange 'flaw', otherwise the helmet is excellent, he loves it.
I susoect it was fitted wrong as I've had mine for 3 yrs, only time that's ever happened was when I fitted the visor wrong.....
Yup - ive done the very same thing... user error on install it's easily done, but once on properly (and checked) its fine, but it can appear fixed and you dont know until you fully open the visor...
Another one with the HJC 10+ Lorenzo. Great helmet. Easy to use visor release mechanism, fully removable inner lining including the chin strap covers. I had a Arai Viper GT previous to this and would say the Arai is quieter. However, at less than half the price of the Arai it's a no brainer. I'd choose HJC again.
On my third now, the only problem I've had (and it could be operator error but others have had the same happen) is the central metal clip can snap off the visor = new visor time. If you look you will see there is not much plastic round the screws. I now try and release it with the clip but lift with the side to prevent this - I was riding my bike a fair amount then, so perhaps they had 30,000 miles of use before it failed is fair and that would take some folk many years to cover the same distance / use.
