Not from China mate but cheaper 1's yes. I'll see how they hold up and if need be change them out if I get any issues
Got the Chinese Samco 'Looky-likee' on mine and they've been brilliant. They're actually thicker and feel better made than the Samco one's tbh and only cost £40 Tiz but a name I spose
They did feel good and certainly look up to the job. Think these cost £50 on a sale for the red 1's (which I wanted anyway)
Ok quick update from the other day when I managed to get out to the cave for a few hours. First up Craig (Shinysideup) got bored a few days before hand and managed to tie up a few loose ends and fit the QAT and exhaust system, basically leaving it so that all that had to be done really was refit the airbox, petrol tank, rad, and fill with new fluids including an oil and filter change. QAT fitted. Airbox, remainder of loom and petrol tank fitted. Rad fitted and filled with fresh fluids. Oil and filter changed. From there it was a case of tightening the engine bolts and double checking everything before firing her up. Here goes nothing. First stab of the button and it fires right up and is running smooth as you like. Happy days. Next up on the list is basically bolt on the goodies for the bike. A few of the things to go on. K-Tech DDS shock Gold forks with K-Tech DDS cartridge kit Brembo RCS and span adjuster And hook up the HM SS quick shifter once the shift rod arrives. Once that's all done I'll get the bike to a dyno and see what this engine is putting out. I've been quoted 190 rear wheel. So let's see what happens.
If it is 190 and scares ya col, I'll do a swapsie lol Great it's come together mate, going to be a proper weapon that
Proper Job that Col! I wonder if someone will be successful in organising a Forum Regulars TD next year so we can ava drooll? I failed miserably last January when I had a crack at it!
To be honest guys this bike is going to be far more capable than I ever will be. It would be better suited on a race grid, but me being me I like my bikes to be as good as I can affordably get them to. Biggest thing for me was making sure it would handle well, as after having the Ohlins fitted to the road bike I realised that everything else should be a second. I'll spend this year getting up to speed and maybe see about doing a couple of endurance races the year after that if I come on enough.
Fail to prepare..... Prepare to fail!! Calling Donny a southern track..... Ps - no I'm not volunteering myself
Not so quick really mate. Normally I'd have had it all done over the space of a weekend. Working 150 miles away has kind of stopped my tinkering ways for the last couple of years. Still enjoy it though when I do get the chance
Well that's the main thing, that you enjoy it. I have the full FireBlade workshop DVD manual, printed off A4 size in a binder, and even following that, I wouldn't have the courage to take an engine out lol. I'll happily tinker with cars, but bike engines etc are a different story.
