I love the look of these machines but has anyone has any experience on one? Quite cheap at the moment though which makes you wonder why!

Nice bikes but a bit slow.
I remember riding a RC8R at Brands a few years ago, along the straight it was 30mph slower than a GSXR1000 K1 !!

I was shocked when I rode both bikes back to back, however the handling and brakes are superb.

Haven't looked at these for years, what sort of prices are they going for?

Pretty cheap! Around 6k for a 13 plate! I sold some leathers earlier and 2 chaps rolled up on 2 RC8's. The white one looked shockingly gorgeous I must admit!

There's a good chance a 13 plate could be an early year model, not saying it's a bad bike but just be aware. I'm putting my akrapovic le up for sale soon but cheap it won't be.

I really like them, rode the R version last year and fell in love with the torque amazing! Yes doesn't have as much as the blade up top but did I mention the torque?

I had one and it rode lovely. Suspension felt plush to me although I was used to a brick hard Ducati !
Throttle was snatchy low down so had to slip the clutch on roundabouts etc but the later bikes were much better with a revised throttle cam.
Mine had an Akra so sounded great, loads of mid range and I could not call it slow, More than quick enough on the road and handled well with great brakes.
Very comfortable as well although quite tall.

I enjoyed my test ride on one a few years ago but didn't like the look of the bike at the front but the rear and side wow, would be good to see a updated version, one above the best color option ...

Despite being an 8 year old design the looks have stood up well

I've had one for a few years and it wasn't slow! Granted it's not as fast as the blade but it was a weapon for sure.

All the controls are very adjustable and easy to find a good position for everything, ride height, pegs, clipons etc.

Had a QD exhaust and it woke the dead and sounded immense.

If you get one and it's not an 'R' model, the progressive throttle cam and 42t sprocket is a must and will take all the snatchy response out of it and make it more docile at lower speeds. Build quality was fine but used to leak a little from the water pump gasket, common fault. Great riding position and you feel in the bike rather than perched on top. Deffo worth getting the suspension pro set up for you also as the wrong set up on these are amplified quite a lot, like night and day.
