Yeah, but that was a big part of the thing. Yes it was less than 30,000 tons, and yes, bits were falling off it continuously and everywhere you went there was an Indonesian guy with a brush painting hammerite over the rust, but I just found it hilarious, but there were only 850 passengers and there was one staff member to every two of us.

Surreal trip though, with the arctic ocean like glass, having your glass topped up at 2:00am on deck, in a dinner suit watching the northern lights...

Two hours of drivel waiting for the pointy birds to appear

Too busy for me in summer, plus, prefer to go away when our weather goes crap....

Likely look at Dubai somewhere around end of October.

Taking the bike(s) or flying over ?

Don't know if they will be making that film at the TT - haven't heard any more about that, but shaping up to be a classic !

That is good going to get ferry and homestay. I have ended up with a mix of tent - homestay - hotel.

Could do a forum meet up - over scampi and chips somewhere !

D'ya know Mattie..I've found that unless you're stuck rigid with dates & times its easy to get crossings & accommodation even at this time, if you're prepared to check the websites most days.

Yes a forum meet up sounds great....especially over scampi & chips....
    & beer
    & more beer :D

    Or

    Fly to Tokyo Japan
    2 Night Hotel stay,
    Tokyo tour
    Then sail to
    Mt Fuji from Shimizu Japan
    Hong Kong
    Nha Trang, Vietnam
    Ho hi Minh, Vietnam
    Singapore
    Benoa, Bali
    Darwin, Australia,
Sydney, Australia, which includes 2 night stay, plus Opera House tour.
    Depart for flight to UK

28 nights which includes Balcony cabin, inlcuding all flights, transfers, tours and Hotels, - £2499

    Or

    Fly to Chicago,
    2 night stay
    AMTRAK overnight to Memphis

There is even a trip that takes in the Abu Dhabi F1 GP includes tickets to qualifying and the race + 15 nights cruising for £1300 which inludes race tickets.

These are just a few examples, there are so many more, even some starting on the west coast USA finishing in Southampton and that is 33 nights on board, and is £2800 all in.

    www.Iglucruise.com

If you go onto their mailing list they send a new one out every couple of months and they cover all cruise lines

Prices online can vary to catalogue prices and if you are able to book and travel at short notice you can make even bigger savings.
