New Member Picking up my new 1000rr on friday, I have ridden a 600rr for 3 years. Does anyone have any tips about riding this bigger bike? Cheers
Welcome to the boards mate. Yep, point in the general direction ya wanna go, wind the throttle open and fookin hang on.
Welcome Reid. Take it steady at first. Lots more power at lower revs than the 600 and once it starts to go it goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos like stink.
Welcome aboard mate I done the same last April Had a CBR600RR-7 from new . I wear a bit nervy about the blade but it was a great transition to a litre bike . Not much bigger than the 600RR at all and handles nearly as good to . Super smooth engine and real easy to ride fast or crawling through traffic ! Have you ordered a new 2012 by any chance ? We still don't have an owner on here yet , You could be first , but be quick as there is 1 on order
Happy days whats it like in the corners? I threw the 600 about but dubious with the bigger heavier bike?
No I got the 2011 but in the Castrol Colours- Yep I know but it was the only one in the shop at the right price.
Hard to pass up the bargains on the RR-B's at the moment Not many Castrols on here either thou . Lovely bikes ( my choice if i ever buy second set of fairings ) We have 1 on here but i think thats it Look forward to the pics and your comments on how much you love it ! ha ha
Yeah, what the guys said. Expect the power to come on about where the starter dog disengages and it tails off about when the valve gear comes through the petrol tank. Watch out for some Doppler shift in your vision as it reaches out for the horizon. Welcome to the forum, mate. Ken
You'd be surprised how easy it is to ride a "big bike" my first bike when I passed my test was s blade and pretty much always had thou's since I had 6's and 7's to commute on etc bug it's only as fast as you twist the grip!!!
You'll be fine, just treat with a little caution at first, but then go exploring! To be honest, the blade is sooo good, it won't scare ya or let you down. It's an immense piece of machinery.... And in some sexy colours (castrol is the ultimate race rep colours) . Nice one!!
You are sooo gonna enjoy it mate ... just don't get too silly with the throttle straight away . There is a big difference in the power but only if you get jiggy with it and as for the weight ... its not much different to your 600 Ooo and yes ... welcome to the family
Welcome Reid to the forum, just take it easy and get used to the new bike. Best advice I can give And mostly enjoy it
