BPF fork upgrade

    Hi, Has anyone upgraded the BPF forks with shims, pistons, ktech ,gold valves, cartridge kit etc, I have adjusted my forks and they are not bad but wondering how much better they could be. I know a lot of people rave about ktech etc but if they spent time on the original set up would it be the same. I ride on fastish bumpy roads so would like a suspension to soak up bumps and handle well, am I asking to much

    I know its an old thread , but did ypu get sorted and whoch way did you go as im currently in same position.

    Hi, I am still in the same situation, I am not sure if you can get much better.
    I know a lot of people say they have their suspension done and it is night and day different, the question is how much adjustment did they try before this
    you struggle to find any technical feedback from upgrades

    I've just done my 08 with k tech pro shock and full cartridge kit up front.

    Totally changed the bike for the better.

    Also on a 08 with KTech internals, similar results to most, - night and day.
    Adjustment on the standard kit made little difference to sag rates etc, maybe it was worn out, maybe I was too light.

    Got the Ktechs fitter and got a specialist to dial it in and the ride was perfect - very confidence aspiring even in the wet.
    Took a note of the settings and made a few tweeks and every slight turn made a difference.

    Ive had mine professionally set up for me but still lacking i feel.
    My sag is 36mm front and rear which is right.
    1 from full reboun and 2.5 from comp.
    Rear is 7/10 on pre load and reb and comp is 1.5 out from full hard.
    It feels ok but i qouldnt say amazing.
    Been in talks with various suspension places over last qeek and by all accounts the big piston fork is a mediocre one and you cant get valve kits for them if your bikes a 2015 like mine.
    Only options ive found are:

    Andreani milano cartridge kit £600
    Ktech rds cartridge £950

    These are cheapest and truth be told i wasnt wanting to spend that much.

    I was told rear shock is not too bad for standard equipment , biggest upgrade is forks.

    i would do the rear first then the forks

    I would love to ride a bike that has been fully set up to see how much difference there is. I do not know how much is hype,
    if someone has no idea of suspension then goes to the local dealer and they just set up the basics that were a mile out, suddenly you have a bike that handles
    I do know I ride different types of roads and need different suspension

    Mine gets used alot on track to so the up grade was money well spent for me.

    Only comparison i have is having a go on my mates SP and that is a lot nicer than my standard blade
