Looking to replace the standard exhaust on my 2008 1000rr.
Budget is about 300euro. Can be 2nd hand as long as its it excellent condition.

Any pointers or advice or come across anything worth looking at?

    Thanks

I've looked at a few but some don't look right and are Crazy money so I guess it's down to personal preference.

if your bike is in original standard condition, akra is the only one that do a road legal with provision for exhaust valve servo and O2 sensor.
Yoshi is also good but didn't have the exhaust servo provision

for € 300 you may find a 2nd hand akra.

They seem very popular in The States, but we see very few here.

All the more reason to get one!

If you call or email them, the owner of TaylorMade, Paul Taylor, will get back to you. Very nice bloke.

    :eek:No way!!

Truthfully, and without offence, I don't like them. Perhaps I'm 'old school' and like a pipe to look like a pipe and not the outlet from a bus camouflaged by the rear bumper. As I often say: Each to their own!;)

I like that it is contoured to the body lines and the CF shroud blends nicely. The stock pipe from the factory is utter crap.

Have the Taylormade exhaust and carbon surround on my 08. Love the sleek design, just have to be careful as they tend to fall apart...

The one on my bike had rotted so previous owner bought it cheap and fixed it up (he works in fabrication) then fitted it. It's been fine since, but something to just keep an eye on :)

Sounds and looks the mutt's nuts though :D

I was seriously tempted by the Taylormade as I too liked the sleek lines and the carbon shroud, kind reminded me of how the Yamaha M1 gp bike exhaust looks.

I was slightly put off at the fact I couldn't get one in this country and the actual exhaust itself that is hidden away looks like some bloke has knocked it up in his garage and sprayed it black!! Very crude !!

Not too far from the truth it would seem!:D

I still like them though but glad I went with my Racefit!;)
