I may be unfair in my opinion, since I haven't rode her for too long, but probably it was about expectations. I've heard so many good things about the S1000RR, had such high expectations, and got disappointed.

Have another go and adjust the electronics, don’t think you can really compare a hp4 with a blade mate?

    You're probably right

Probably the fear of crashing a 20k€ bike was too much pressure to enjoy it.. :p

It does make sense. I'm not sure what the 'cut off' date is for manufacturing parts, but it seems difficulties arise with bikes over 12 - 15 years old - on selected parts. That's where outlets like David Silver and Nut Job come in handy because it seems that they buy end-of-line stock and hoard it.

I haven't yet needed major parts for my older bikes, but there are 'specialist' after market manufacturers that supply good product. One is Classic Race Replicas http://www.classicracereplicas.com/ which turn out good replacement parts.

Fortunately, with such sites like eBay, we can source just about anything we need. Might have to pay through the nose at times, but that's the price of expensive hobbies. I can well understand a dealer refusing to buy off eBay - the prospect of purchasing a 'dud' part would not be worth the risk.

Cruise Control is a must in my view these days, tiz a £2 addition yet the BMW is the only Superbike to have it.

Prolly getting a 2019 Beemer next year because of it lol

Honda are absolutely crap at spares for older bikes, their focus is on new and nearly new. Other Jap manufacturers appear to want their modern classics ie pre 2000 to be preserved and support the owners with vintage parts schemes etc., but not Honda, luckily there are some very good specialists making parts to keep the bikes going, but Honda as a corporation are very poor supporting owners of older bikes.

    EDIT

On rereading my comments, I realised my ball drop, as we all know Honda as a corporation are crap at supporting owners of all their bikes new or old.

I had a 2014 blade then swapped for 2015 s1000rr, I found the s1000rr a far better bike. The 2015 was pre euro 4, I think euro made 17/18 a lesser bike then the 15
