    £££ no doubt.

Adventure seems to be the big market lately.

Every time someone buys a GS, The Baby Jesus weeps.

Adventure bikes just don’t do it for me, when the day comes I can’t ride a sports bike or something like a street triple I will hang my gloves up.

I would hope that with Triumph doing the engine for Moto2 that they would bring out a Daytona/sports bike, hopefully in the same black/gold as the 2008se.

As for GS riders, well they are a strange breed and now seem to be congregating in packs, which is good as it reduces the number of time that other bikers are ignored by Bavarian <insert term>. Strangely this doesn't seem to be the case with Triumph, KTM or other adventure bikes.

Anecdotally there seemed to be less of the Adventure bikes around this year. Still no real increase in sportsbikes but the super nakeds and hyper nakeds seem to be growing in popularity.

Not sure if you have seen the latest edition of Performance Bikes magazine, and the Rutter Test - he seems to like the Street Triple RS.

Adventure bikes - "Adventure" seems a bit Enid Blyton and marmalade sandwiches - :D. Harmless enough I suppose, the Famous Five setting off on an - Adventure !

Or maybe the Adventures of Tintin :D

    Seems a bit funny.

I honestly do not see the lure of adventure bikes. Few people I see riding them use them for their intended purpose.

Reminds me of a US phenomenon, "The Mall Crawler". Basically a kitted up Jeep/truck that can handle any terrain in any weather, but has never left the tarmac or gotten a spot of dirt on it.

Try one first before hanging your gloves up! I think you'd be suprised!

Seems we have not cornered the market on lunacy...that's a relief.

On this point, I have. I get to ride all manner of motorbikes due to my job and for me, they hold no sway. I am not particularly large (5'10", 165 pounds), the seat height and position do not lend well to my frame. I feel like I am too high up and not as planted as I am on my sportbikes. I always feel like the bike gives far less feedback and feels too neutral for my riding style. I've never gotten on one and wanted to stay on. I've ridden a few GS models, 3 different Africa Twins and a KTM Adventure. Just not my cup of tea. I respect any motorcycle on the road and everyone has different criteria for what makes a bike appealing. The world would be far less interesting if everyone rode the same bike.

Even more so when you consider the width of the roads here, especially in residential areas.

It's bad enough here and our streets are twice as wide. I can't imagine seeing one of these lumbering behemoths coming at you on (what we would consider) an alleyway.

The most dangerous time of day for both man & beast is the school run....far more challenging than any tour of Afghanistan you may have been on....you've been warned just in case you take that job over here in blighty ;)

I probably would be but I don’t need one as yet when the time comes I will try one but I can’t be doing with opening the garage door and looking at one mother ugly bike , I can’t say I have ever looked at an adventure bike and thought what a lovely looking bike
I would rather have a retro bike Thruxton or bonnivile scrambler/ Ducati monster etc

He does like the street triple, but both Rutter and the reporter prefer the speed triple. Incredibly the speedie lapped quicker than the S1000R and new std blade. The street wasn't that far off either!

No Limits race series next year is going to include a 765 RS championship , it’s a good mate of mine who is sorting it out. He has done a bit of testing on the RS his lap times have been really good
