I was looking to book the Saturday, all sold out now, I have done many trackdays there, will be a sad day with it closing down, first knee down there, many years ago, good facilities, I got on well with the circuit although some people don't like it I ride with my long time mate, we are very similar time wise, I go quicker on the national, he is quicker on the international, we have had many good days there Enjoy your day Rob
Great day. Dry start, so wrong tyre choice for me. Switched to slicks for the 2nd session then the rain came in the 3rd. Still had a good day though, if a little windy. Here's a brief video on board one of the Honda CB500's that I was with. I appear on the right at 5 sec and start playing for the cam. Mainly because it's my camera
No Limits had the last 2 bike days on Friday & Saturday, then there's a big send off with a car day later this year. Then it's time for the JCBs to go in to rip up the track and turn it into a housing estate
The operating costs were too high for the revenue it was making. Partly due to the American style of oval racing not taking off in the UK. They tried other things by hiring out the venue. I first drove it when BMW launched the E90 in 2005, but I never rode it until earlier this year. Wish I'd gone sooner and made the most of it.
Shame they didn't make mire use of the Oval, the infield section looks a bit tight and more of a 500cc supermoto track?
it going to be a car storage depot for holding vehicles before they go out to fleets etc. the ground is unsuitable for housing development, it is the site of the old steelworks and cant be used for residential. it would be my guess we havent seen the last of the circuit, who knows what the future holds but it could come back
