Remember how much I rooted for Kiyonari's special appearance some months back? Cop this: https://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/909818/1/hrc-reveals-althea-moriwaki-2019-squad-world-superbikes
Good that is now got full HRC factory support however the wrong riders kiyo has had his day and camier is average....at least Honda are taking it seriously , I think Andrew Irwin is on the BSB bike good young rider.... The blade did win the world endurance championship and the Aussie superbikes so not all Doom and gloom hopefully wsbk colours will be HRC...white with castrol belly pan
Not a chance in hell. Even if the bike fires (which is an equally big call) there's just too many current top 6 contenders in the field! - and with greatest respect to any WSB rider, poor Ryuchi would be lucky to get points in the first year. For mine, he would be another Gagne.
It's got to be great news for the series though, we need factory teams in WSBK!! Rider wise I think Camier has had some moments this season and I think if they get the bike right he can challenge for the podium. Kiyonari I think has been brought on-board as a development rider but again if they get the bike right, who knows! Would love to see either of them on the podium.......just for a change!
I want to be with you on this @PauloHRC , but I firmly believe that if the resources and expertise of Ten Kate and Red Bull couldn't get the bike on podiums, HRC isn't going to do it at least early in the season. Agree with you about Camier's ability. For Kyonari though, he's a sort of Japanese version of Rossi: getting on in age, still shows flashes of brilliance, but not a CONSISTENT challenger. In saying this, Kyonari will also be attempting his challenges on a far from competitive bike. (As you often say: 'Just saying')
I'm not suggesting either 'will' get on the podium......merely that it would be nice to see them mix it up a bit. Hell somebody needs too. I might have a bet 'at the actual bookies' on Bautista for the title, just to make it exciting for myself!
Big call, but not totally out of the park. I think Haslam, Davies and the new BMW team will be standouts and Jonathan Rea will maintain his pace at the front end.
No disrespect - but could this be a caretaker team, until they get a really new bike late 2019 ? and then start again.
Its a possibility I suppose they have to be seen as doing something constructive what with recent seasons being terrible!! On the other hand if HRC are involved are they really going to give it half measures?? Can they make the SP2 any more competitive??
I can only think that rider lineup will be to develop the bike, neither would win a race if they were on the duke or kwak, such a shame when there i so much young talent about Rob
I believe they can. If the Australian Penrite team can defeat the unlimited funds Troy Bayliss Desmosport Ducati Team, it is clearly possible. Agreed that we are talking about different levels of competition, bit the O'Halloran/Linfoot bikes have also shown potential, more particularly in O'Halloran's last outing.
