Welcome 7 below. Nice colour scheme on your '05. I have a red/white/blue '04 which I consistently mention is the most comfortable of the 1000cc Blades. Do you have original exhaust? If so, it must join the club of one of the very few!! Would be very interested in thoughts as to how it compares with the R1-M.
Hi There, It is currently fitted with a Yoshi GP Force exhaust, although, I do have the original too. As far as comparing it with the R1-M they are chalk and Cheese as you can imagine. The lack of horse power is instantly noticeable, although, the R1-M is geared -1 +1 which does make a big difference. The R1-M stops and turns sharper too, but to be fair there is 10 years development in the Yamaha. On a plus point for the Blade it is lovely to ride with the higher bars and that silky smooth motor. I just had to buy it with only 5000 miles on the clock and hardly a stone chip anywhere to be seen and it was kept in a heated garage all it's life. Looking forward to the 2019 season...
What a pickup. I always say there's gems around for those in the right place at the right time. I bought mine back in March with a similar mileage. Has yet to turn over 5,500!
