Evening all, just registered and looking forward to being part of the forum Had lots of blades over the years and swapped my HRC 2014 bike for a brand new SP1 the week before Christmas, been in the garage ever since but can’t wait to ride it!!! Cheers Lee
Hi Leem and welcome. Where the frig are all these SPs (NOT SP1s) coming from? I know prices have dropped but there must have been some great pre-Christmas deals going down!!
Hi Nigel, my bad a typo on the SP .... Yeah swore I wouldn’t buy another brand new bike but got offered an attractive deal at the bike show then shopped about to see what was out there and got a deal I just couldn’t say no to Been torture taking delivery at this time of year though, bring on the summer!
Thanks Kevin, really looking forward to getting on the bike! Almost went with the new BMW RR but can’t see past the blade Cheers Lee
No worries - whilst the roads aren’t fit you’ll have time to sort the tail tidy. @PauloHRC has a thread running where he’s just fitted one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2017-201...m=162331376152&_trksid=p2045573.c101006.m3226 . There’s a helpful video in the thread that’ll help a lot as it’s a bit of a bugger by the look of it.
Ah much appreciated mate, but I got the dealer to throw one in so they fitted it prior to delivery , this of course means I have plenty connector block and insulating tape left in my garage
A few of us have done the same. It seems @PauloHRC missed the boat with that one, but he still got a good handful of dealer 'extras'. Interesting. A couple on here have gone from Blade to BMW. I'd been close, but settled on the tried and true. Later looked at a second hand BM RR but they seem to hold incredibly high values - more so than the Hondas. You won't regret the SP, it's a cracking bike. Think I'll pledge to do more miles on mine this summer. (That means about 380)
Sounds good, made the pledge to cover some miles this year myself, have a trip over to the IOM outwith TT week though for a few laps of the island and back again on the radar plus my usual 5am starts whilst the loonies are asleep and roads arguably safer
Yep, early starts are essential. Beat the bugs, church goers, granny visitors, Volvo drivers and even Harley riders who are still sleeping off the previous night's Johnnie Walker or plaiting their wispy grey beards.
