Here's a story for you, my Mams aunt from Builth Wells lost her hubby many years back and when they emptied the barn there were around 200 copper cylinders (???) and bales of hay and behind it all there was an Aerial Sq four, another unbuilt in its crate and a model 'T Ford and she let some bloody museum have the lot for £1800!

That story came from my Dad so I know it's straight up!

I read this last week and just came across it again.

So often we here of these sort of stories; the 'barn find'; the recluse with the treasures behind a hidden wall, etc, etc. And so often we say to ourselves, 'Yeah, sure. What a load of crap.'

It is great to read of this recount from a reliable source. Thanks for posting.

I will admit it has made me take a hard look at myself. If I were to meet a sudden demise and not be found for a couple/few years (because I am also a recluse) I shudder to think that I would be the subject of one of these stories:

    Daily Telegraph 21 June 2022:

'A 70-year-old pensioner has today been found in his lounge room and identified as having been deceased for 18 months. Police and council services advise all bills for services had been continually paid by Direct Debit until exhausted funds caused Scottish Power to attend and collect their Smart Meter. On police gaining entry to the well-maintained home, they were confronted by a museum-like appearance in the form of five motorcycles under wraps. An inspection of the rear of premises located a further two motorcycles in a heated shed. The collection is said to be worth a considerable sum and will be duly processed under probate.

The deceased appeared to have passed in his sleep, his head resting peacefully upon a cat cushion. There are no suspicious circumstances.'

A cat cushion was retrieved by the HazChem Unit & subsequently destroyed in a controlled explosion.

    You're friggin' sick, @Lozzy.

I was going to make a move on you, but you've now lost me. Any woman who will go through my computer to check on my clandestine activities will not have my heart!!:D:D;)

I'm afraid you've lost that window of opportunity Nige as Jeff Bezos has just come back on the market & any guy who has £107 billion festering in his bank account needs me in his life to release the burden.....even if he looks more like Wallace than our @Selmer50mark :)

Well, they do say 'bald is beautiful'!

I guess shaving my head wouldn't be a sufficient trade-off for a share of 107 billion?:(;)
