After much deliberation, posting and excellent advice - finally jumped in at the deep end and bought a 2007 RR6 in red/black. Since then I went down a CBR600RR path (took one out, which I quite liked actually) but it was going to be at least an extra couple of grand for one new enough that it would be worth having (2013+) and the heart just kept saying YOLO. GET THE BLADE YOU TWAT. So there it is. Turns up next week! (Not going to ride it all the way down from Edinburgh to London in winter - brrrr )
Good pick up, dmc. Looks in great condition. Good price too, although the 65 'administration fee' is an add-on shafting. Nevertheless, its true price would be in the 48s to 5 grand so the Harley dealer probably just wants rid of it!! Major service due at 16,000 on those.
Managed to negotiate away the admin fee and some more - really don't think I could have got a better bike for the money. Helped that it was stuck in Scotland, roads up there too icy to ride and it wasn't advertised anywhere else Apparently the dealer paid quite a lot for it in part ex thinking they'd shift it quickly but then winter hit and no-one up there wants 10 year old super bikes. In the end they were just looking to shift it so I think I was right place right time. What's the deal with the 16k service? Is it a take the whole engine apart job? What kind of cost would I be looking at?
16K service is a 'major' which involves valve check/adjustment (shimming as necessary), air & oil filters, plugs etc. Labour intensive and generally in the region of 400.00 quid dealer price. An independent might be a tad less. @roboticus might disagree, but I've recently had this service on my 2011. I keep a very keen eye on bike pricing as I'm regularly seeking out quality bikes at good prices. I also have a 4,500 miler 2004 Blade. Agree with you about the riding 'season' in Scotland. Bought my 2007 MV Agusta F4 from Glasgow under similar circumstances in that the owner claimed he had little opportunity to ride it. On the other side, my view is that if we want to ride we will make the opportunity. I was out in 2 degrees yesterday. I do cold but not wet!
I wouldn't have said Nige's price would be too far away come spring time as my mate got £3500 for an 04 Blade with about 30k on it (was only expecting around £2500). That said, I part ex'd my 09 back in November 15 and got £5k for it (although it went out the door for £6300!). Dealers have the added advantage of being able to hold on to stock and offer finance to purchasers so £4.8k wouldn't be a far stretch in April/May. I think the OP had a great deal.

This is a fair point @exuptoy . What we can get as a quick sale or for an average bike vastly differs from a retail price for a very good example (private) or a dealer price - which we know will always be at a premium. I purchased a 2 owner 2004 last year with 4,500 miles on it. Hardly (if ever) been in the wet. Paid 4300.00 private, and I know I paid a tad over the odds, but for a magic bike, just like @dmc12 's we are prepared to go the extra yard.
Both very nice. My BIL purchased a 4k mile 2006 CBR600RR the other day for £4000 and as nice as it is I'd never pay it as I don't generally like 600's due to the lack of oomph BUT it is in amazing as new condition as per the 2 bikes above. You pays your money........

I’m with you @nigelrb - i think most schemes work well but the red/white/black and gold wheels are great. It’s the shading at the bottom of the white fairings that tips the balance
She arrived today! Absolute minter - better condition than I was expecting to be honest. Pissing it down with rain though (and I don't have the V5C code to tax it yet) so the first ride will have to wait. Lots of dumb questions about fitting baffles to Yoshi pipes and Meta System alarm/immobiliser kits coming up

Thanks! As for the gazebo - this one is heavy duty - not flown off in the last 5 years of storms! Only a temporary home anyway, normally tucked up in a dry barn
Happy for you @dmc12 . As mentioned, I'm partial to the 04 - 07s, and yours is a top example. Many owners keep their bikes 'superficially' clean. You can tell the real devoted owners by looking at the chain and rear sprocket. You've scored well!
