    Morning all,

Just bought a 2018 blade which I collect Saturday (just in time for the cold snap..) so thought I’d introduce myself.

Coming from an NC30 so a bit of a jump.

I was looking at 2010-12 blades but the deals on new Hondas arw ridiculous - dealer paid half the £4K deposit and the other half is from sale of the NC so hasn’t actually cost a thing really.. although living in London the insurance is obscene. PCP monthly rate is £99 with 0%apr.. silly not to buy one (that’s what I told the fiancé anyway).

Anyhow, hope to see some of you around on the road - keep your eyes out for a matte black LA68 if you’re around London.

If anyone can recommend decent routes / roads north of London (Herts/Beds/etc) that would great. Don’t know that area too well.

    Thanks
    Andy

Hi Andy and welcome. Nice choice of bike...pictures are mandatory of course!

I'm a Londoner as well (SE commuting into Canary Wharf), its a blessed relief let me tell you to have another Londoner on here, it's chock full of those fekkin northerners ;)

    Enjoy.

Hi and welcome. Very true about current deals. The quiet season and desire to clear the floors of 2018 models helps. And, you're far better off with new over a 3 or 4 year-old - in my opinion of course. Have a safe ride home on Saturday!

Fair to say that some of us are from the affluent Midlands where fresh air, good roads, and the lack of Spam Fritters abound.

Shame you sold one of my favourite bikes:(. I'd been very close to looking at this which is still in my 'Watch List':
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VF...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Very suss about 'only' 7,000-odd kilometres, and I don't have a lot of trust in some of these overpriced dealers.

    Hi Andy,
I’m from London originally and used to have a play out towards southgate barnet potters bar but that was awhile ago so would imagine there’s cameras all over the place now?
Buckinghamshire isn’t that far and has a few good roads worth looking at.
    Enjoy he new bike mate

Congrats on the new bike Andy :)

Which part of London are you in? That direction is where I tend to head for a blast, or some vague impression of one... I’m in NW2.

Probably telling you nothing you don't already know, but pay strict attention to security! Might be overkill, but we hear so many bad stories about London bikes disappearing:(.

    Welcome to the forum Andy.

Like you I've just traded in my old bike, an 09 blade for a 2018 SP. Same sort of deal too, £3.5k deposit, £1k dealer contribution and £99 a month on 0% finance! The change left over from my old bike will pay the finance for the next 32 months as well! So that's only the last 4 months I'll have to pay:)

It's like a free bike!!! :D or that's what I told the Mrs.....and that my friends is how you get yourself an 18 grand motorcycle when you've got a baby on the way!:D

    Cheers mate.

    This was my NC https://m.imgur.com/a/nvcvnBg

It’s gone to a good home. Would’ve loved to have kept it but can’t justify having two bikes (money and space) and it only would’ve sat there unused.

I’m NW8. Used to be south London and would head out to the downs but it’s a faff to get down there from here now.

My two riding buddies have both moved as well - one to Cornwall and the other to Dublin. I’ll be taking the new bike to Mondello Race Track in Ireland in the summer which will be cool

Final payment for mine (stocker) is £8k which is decent as I reckon it’ll actually be worth a little more than that giving me some bargaining power in 3 years time.

Of note, I went to Chiswick Honda who have been excellent.

Haha yeah course there is, final payment or (GFV) is 10,900 in 3 years time. I'm hopeful the bike will be worth a little more than that but in 3 years but I won't be to too bothered if it's not. I actually plan on keeping it rather than trading it in, but it is a bit special ;)

This is the new bike - it’s been sat in the parking garage since I bought as the weather has been shite.

I’m very much a fair weather rider.. especially on brand new tyres. Hopefully get out on it in the next couple weeks (I don’t mind the cold, it’s the damp that’s worrying me).

R&G tail tidy will be added shortly and after that maybe a slip on. In the flesh I don’t think the exhaust looks too bad - nowhere near as offensive as the behemoth of a can you get on gixxers

Good pick up and the colour you wanted too. Congrats. We're bound to get a break in the weather soon enough! Well, we all hope for it.

    Looking good in Matte black!

Regarding the tail tidy, there are other options than the RandG. Myself and a couple of other forums members have just fitted a J-TECH tail tidy to our bikes. UK made and extremely good quality and value for money. Half of what an RandG costs as well. Have a look at the thread ' 17-18 SP tail tidy recommendations'
