    Sorry to hear of this.

The way your luck's gone with this purchase, the bike's probably not even fitted with a QS and the tech hasn't realised:D.

Sure it'll be resolved quick. You don't want to be over-anxious all weekend with this.

Mate I feel for you, you've not had much luck have you, why on earth wouldn't the quick shifter not work on a brand new bike.......i'm not advising you too.......but I'd walk away if I were you. Would not be happy with that, I would hold off putting your bits on as well

I know what you mean but with the shifter being an add on part of the sports pack it could be just a bad unit if not they can change all the electrics or give me a 2019 bike instead :)

It's bollocks you can't get things done right 1st time...I hope it all works out I'm sure it will...that's why once I have had good service or exsperince I always go back there ...same motorbike shop...same pedal shop...same supplier for kit etc...

Welcome. All sounds a bit like a 70s comedy show. Like @PauloHRC I wouldn't accept the bike, either they sort it before hand or walk away, to do otherwise weakens your position if problems persist.

    Hi Paul and Welcome,
sounds like you’ve had a mare? Hope it gets sorted for you real quick! HTF did he drop it? They use a full width ramp on the van! Now I also know why they couldn’t get my bike back to me last week as yours would’ve been booked in lmao

    quite right barstewardsquad
They are decent guys at NCL Motorcycles but I’ve had an issue (not their fault) as took my blade in for its 16000 mile service and turns out there was a recall on my tank that wasn’t done:( two friggin weeks later Honda eventually delivered the new one and i’m getting her back today (sorry Paul) :p

I recall somewhere Honda saying it was user error when someone complained about a quickshifter? If I were you mate I would be stinging hat dealership for as much off or goods/accessories as humanly possible and take it somewhere else for its servicing/maintenance.
I hope it sorts itself out for you mate and you can get out on it while the weathers turned for the better

Thanks for the comments lads, he dropped the bike as he was coming down backwards on the ramp and it was steep, front wheel locked and went way to fast fell over when hit the bottom.
I have the bike now and he showed me that the shifter was not registering as been on on the dash not indicating up or down. Anyway once he went I had a look in the menu selected to turn on the shifter went back to the dash and it is indicating it is working fine wtf?
So turned the bike off checked the next day and its still showing as on so no idea what is going on it all looks OK to me. Now that my coating has dried I hope to get out on it for a full test very soon.

Haha...sounds like the "problem" was with the dealership technician not the QS itself

Interesting. I haven't tried to operate mine without the dash function showing on. Given that this function has been available since 2017 (on these bikes) you'd reckon that it would be 'second nature' for a tech the check the dash first. I mean, it's glaring them in the face.

If you have further problems, this might help. I know yours is installed, it's more a matter of knowing the connections etc;)

Congrats on the new bike Paul. Sorry to hear it hasn't gone smoothly so far but hopefully they will sort it soon enough.

Yeah I'm just near the coast, Tynemouth way.

The blade can definitely scare you, and we have some brilliant roads on our doorstep to do it on :D

Correct. A couple or few complained that the QS 'missed' the first to second change and giving a false or genuine neutral. Discussion ensued about the sensitivity level settings (p53 of Owner's Manual) but my view is that that is a very fine adjustment and would not lead to missed changes.

As a truly devoted Honda devotee I hate to say this, but it seems Honda believes most of its problems are caused by 'user error'.:(

Well got out tonight for the very first run weather is sunny but cold done around 70 miles and the bike is working like a dream. Quick shifter works perfectly thank god. Taking it easy new tyres and engine but still feels fantastic well pleased just need to get some fat off before the serious season starts yippee
Thank you for all your support over my issues top people on this site
