Little while since I posted, few more parts have been added and waiting for a few more to arrive.
It’s so nice to see a project come together

Taxed it, fuelled it and rode it :D

First run out for the blade this year, cake stop at Seaways, ice cream stop at Thorton-le-Dale, fish n chips at Whitby, reserve light came on 5 miles from home - great day out :D

Today I ordered a SC Project CRT Carbon exhaust and can't wait for him!
When it comes - I will share here the pics of the installation and the final result! That should be loud!

Nothing fancy...... Just some decals to compliment the new exhaust! Oh and just found out that alcohol wipes off datatag etching

Really........ Just caught the edge of the tag on my belly pan while gently wiping with a tiny bit of alcohol and it wiped it clean off. It's now as smooth as the fairing with a very faint remnant that it was even there!

I caught the phone number below the actual datatag number....... Not completely though, just the first few digits. I've since wiped the whole phone number off just to confirm things for myself!

Had my SP in dealer today for a 12 month service at 2051 miles. Was last done in June last year for 1st service.

We have previously spoken of dealer prices, and I have voiced my opinions on same and stated that I go to a dealer solely for the Service Book stamp for this particular bike. Next time I will seek a stamp elsewhere:rolleyes:.

Why? £182.40 for oil and filter and plug washer, including general check over, of which £106.25 was the labour charge. Because I waited at the dealership, I know the bike was in the workshop for 1 hour 15 minutes. My 'average' maths tell me this works out to £85.00 per hour.

This is not really a rant. Perhaps I haven't kept pace of prices since my long exodus from bikes. However, on a cost for value basis, I think this presents a genuine disincentive for owners to maintain a 'relationship' with a dealer.

Yeah, it's basically £100 for the stamp.
Oil, Filter and washer I bought recently came to £60/70 'ish...and it's an easy job really.

Makes you sick doesn't it :(

Yep. I do my own on the other bikes. My only reason for dealerising :)) ) this one is for the Service Book.

Strange thing is though, if I were to spend £1,000 on dealer servicing over 5 years, it would have very little effect on the re-sale price of the bike. Even me, looking through purchasers eyes, would see it only as a 'value added' extra. Perhaps I am a fool:(;).

Perhaps I'll just leave it in my will to someone who really NEEDS a bike. @derchef maybe? :D:D

You know my thoughts on main dealers Nigel! I know you’ve been to road and race, he’s actually a Honda master mechanic so knows his stuff! Had some cracking bikes in there when I went up there, might be with a chat with him, some nice roads to play on on the way home too

    Cheers.

Hadn't even considered him for works other than dyno and suspension. So yes, a good alternative because I have been more than pleased with previous works performed by them.;)

mine goes in next wk 3300 miles now had a year ....glad I got the service plan thrown in....needs new tyres going for supercorsa sp again ...if you build up a good relationship with a dealer get to know the staff they do budge on prices...although I admit some are not worth getting to know..

Good mileage tally for the year, Wozza.

My dealer will budge on price if I'm BUYING a bike, but thereafter is clammed up like a chastity belt with a lost key.
