Just booked my ticket for the above (£18.00 - but no pensioner discount:().Will be going tomorrow and will post a review on my return.

Will try to angle my way into the good books to get the low down on the elusive Daytona 765 Moto 2 rep:D.

Could you ask a question for me please Nigel. Ask them why they felt the need to cover the white and black speed triples in red and yellow decals. Are the colours likely to change for 2020, are the stickers just a mid year thing?

What a brilliant place to spend a few hours. Nice cafe, albeit expensive, with a big screen MotoGP practice running.

A reasonable museum of historic production, race and land speed bikes with free entry, and then the tour at £18.00 was well worth the value.

Tour commenced with a viewing of inwards goods and then through to storage of parts and completed bikes on racking 9.0 metres high. A real challenge for an average forklift driver. The capacity holds up to 6,500 bikes but averages around 4,000 depending on seasons.

Then through to machining where crankcases are machined after arriving as a rough forged piece from India. Next line was camshaft grinding and engine assembly before we moved to the paint shop followed by moving production line where engine and swing arm are fitted, then front forks, seat, tank etc, through to final inspection.

Tour guide was excellent, but flatly denied (as did another staff member) any existence of my treasured Daytona 765. They wouldn't offer any 'future' detail at all. I can say though, @CharlieR85 , that I did see the 2020 Street and Speed Triple and they also have the same/similar neon yellow (they call it green) decals on tank and side panels. (The ones marketed now might actually be 2020s with the way marketing is now).

A good idea for manufacturers to do this sort of thing, because people are interested in the brand and want to know a bit more about it all.

    Part agree, Mattie.

It can have the reverse effect also, because I have expressed intense interest in this proposed Moto 2 rep since it was floated in the 6 February 2019 edition of MCN which quoted: 'Spy shots of an all-new Triumph Daytona 765 confirm new high-spec model is imminent.'

For the factory itself to deny any existence of the model, if true, shows poor journalism.

If not true though, and the factory insists on remaining tight lipped, this becomes an appalling customer relations exercise - in my case where an end consumer has offered deposit yet is still told the bike doesn't exist. This is not a rant, as I have already directed this to the factory's customer service manager highlighting the point that as I am told the bike DOESN'T exist, I shall now direct my interest, and money, to another marque.

Factory will deny everything right up to the point it is announced/leaked. Normal practise to stop other manufacturers doing spoiler products/announcements and stealing the thunder.

I certainly hope that Triumph bring out a 765 Daytona. The mid engine size sportsbike class needs reinvigorating and I think a Moto2 inspired bike could do it.

Yes, I won't take issue with that.

But my view is that where standards and expectations exist, they will decline even further if the more vocal (or demanding) consumers will not hold them to account. Remember, whether in trade or retail (or government for that matter) if they can get away with it, they will, AND will continue to do so.;)

Completely agree with that Nigel, there is definitely a need for people with your attitude in the world. Obviously though, it is a manufacturers prerogative to stay tight lipped over potential new models. I think you've only got to read between the lines with everything Triumph has done and said regards the moto 2 replica to know the willingness is there, they just need to look before they leap.

Also.... accepting deposits on potential future models isn't something that's going to benefit a large company like Triumph very much, they aren't a startup company looking to raise capital for a new product. I'm sure it's more an issue of will it sell in large enough numbers to make the outlay worthwhile.

Looking into my crystal ball(s)....the Triumph moto2 replica will go on sale in 2021 with heavy marketing early next year......all new Fireblade 2022......Honda V4 2023. :D:D:D

They've obviously been brainstorming at Hinkley for ways to stop Nigel trying to place deposits on bikes they've not even built yet.

"Someone ring him up and give him the good news 24hrs early....that should keep him happy and stop the old bugger darkening our door again"
