After having a repsol I changed a few times but got the urge to get another blade.. My old repsol Got a good deal on an 09 blade.. few mods to do but comes with an akra pipe Quickshifter and few mods sitting waiting to go on.. Does anyone know if a Austin racing exhaust from a 2015 blade will fit the 09?
Welcome back, Ricky. Yep, can't resist a good Blade. Looks like you've done alright. Can't help with the exhaust. Some have different diameter header pipes and link pipes, but I never know which is which.
14 to 16 has a larger diameter header as the cat is in the header. You may be able to get a reducer to fit it to the 09.
Hey Ricky....... Nice HRC exactly the model I had as well. What's the mileage and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
Front seal was a bit weepy so getting them changed, just waiting for a set of ktec to come up at sensible money lol It's a Daytona 675 track bike
Hang on. Fork seals are MoT items. That should have been on the dealer, but I can understand you might not have noticed during the pre-purchase inspections. The other problem, and one that dealers and some sellers hide behind, is if a bike has an MoT until say, 30 November, but the bike shows a fault in August, it is still technically bound under a valid MoT until its renewal date. That is why some unscrupulous sellers get away with murder on eBay! Anyway Ricky, you're all the better for having the new seals, and done by yourself means you know it's done properly.
I noticed it before I purchased as it was a private sale I got a good deal.. I do alot of the work myself so at least I know all is done right.. This weeks plans
Wow! Great list of refreshments for the new bike. The model in the background is quite refreshing too!!
I learnt something there, I always thought a fail invalidated any remaining MOT. Of course unless the dealer MOT'd it themselves it would still have a failure recorded on the DVLA and show up on the multitude of apps available these days.
Yes, BSS, you are right there. My scenario was not another MoT during the currency of one, but just a fault becoming evident to a seller. Using my scenario of a live MoT expiring in November, if I notice that my headlights don't work and the tyres are fully worn in August, the bike still (technically) is MoT'd. So we can sell it with an MoT, and of course the new buyer can have the vehicle transferred to him through DVLA because the MoT is current. But, we'd obviously have to advise/convince the buyer that those items would have to be fixed before presenting for MoT renewal.
Nice bike and a nice list of mods for it! Welcome back Ricky! Just need a nice aluminium chain guard now ;£
