    Soon to be gone.

On strong word that the 2020 will be a good one, I have sold the '16 SP. I wanted to sell it on before the new model dropped and the opportunity came to sell it to a mate that adores the bike.

I am sad to see it go and tonight, when that envelope hits my palm, I will feel a twinge of regret but it will be sold.

Yep, I am also liquidating in preparation. But if it's a flop I'll be straight off to Yamaha!;)

I visited dealer this morning and got nothing.

I am confident they're not holding out on me. But, I don't share that same confidence with our friend @derchef .:);)

I agree, I don't think @derchef knows anything, so it can't be true - he would be able to tell us if he had test ridden it or knew something....;):D

No, Mattie. If he is in the know, he must acknowledge any agreement of silence. His relationship/dealings with any source wouldn't be worth sacrificing for breach of trust.;)

When I was speaking with the dealer the other day, they said we would find out before them, they prefer it that way as they don't have to sign any NDA's or lie to customers who ask.

Good drills Spygoat. If you have a great attachment to a bike. If funds allow, keep hold of it.

Punter offered slightly less than I wanted and I took the opportunity to tell him it was no longer for sale.

He was a taken aback and expected me to counter, but I didn't. He left a bit shocked at my "bargaining" tactic.

How far did he travel to see you? I’ve found people travelling more than 100 miles roughly to see things I’ve been selling in the past have been pretty determined to buy at the advertised price. Locals have mostly been joyriders (but maybe that’s Kent boys for you).
Glad you’re keeping it though as you sounded as though you’d regret selling.

I think the further someone is going to travel certainly weeds out the time wasters, although not in every case. When I was 22 I decided I needed to sell my Nissan 350z to find my house purchase. Stuck it on the usual sites and had a buyer come from Luton (1.5 hour drive approx.). Looked round the car for an hour and a half then offered £4K as that was all he had (car was up at £8k at that point). I guess for some people it’s a day out. I’m usually serious but will walk away from a bad deal no matter how far I’ve travelled to see something. Would never buy blind either but that’s just me.

    Glad you’re keeping it @Spygoat :)

He came from Southern New Jersey, so probably 80-100 miles.

I really think he wanted to bargain, but I just couldn't bring myself to sell the bike.

£4K for something listed at £8K?! That's just rude - maybe he was going to be passing by in your area any way. I sold my MK1 Audi TT Roadster 3.2V6 earlier this year (still regret it, 2004 manual, superb condition, only 60k miles) - guy drove for 3 hours to get to me, paid the full asking price. Still miss the sound the car made - all standard, but a naturally aspirated V6 does sound nice (although not as meaty as a V8 or as sublime as Jaguar's old V12).
