So... Before I go one, bare in mind that I have a custom headlight setup with bixenon/projectors, that I put up together with a friend, done the wiring, etc, but we're far from professionals. Last Monday left home, everything normal, got to work and noticed lights were out (low and high beam). I had problems recently with one of the sockets of the xenon's relays, one of the contacts was pushed out of place and so, I thought it should be that, and sent my mind to replace the sockets. At night, started to check the wiring, and... found nothing wrong, relays were getting power, so I figured it was not from the relays. Then I checked all fuses, all fine. I thought maybe it was the ballasts that were "burned", so... Wednesday went and bought 2 new ballasts. Sure enough, with the 2 new ballasts, still no lights. However, fiddling with the wiring I suddenly heard the ballasts powering up, and lo and behold, there was light. I had just touched a part of a wire with a junction, so for safe measure, replaced the junction, tested everything, and everything was working. Started to mount the parts back up, and I swear to god, there was just some minor parts to put in place and a few screws to turn, I tested and... NO LIGHTS. I went to fiddle with the relay sockets, and light was intermittent So, tonight I decided to do what I should have done in the first place, replace the sockets. Did that, and... still no lights. Took the front end apart, checked every cable, every junction, everything I could remember, still no lights. I threw in the towel I just thought that I would have to bring the bike to an electrician or try to sort out someone who could come and help me diagnose the issue. Spent a few hours playing video games to "relax", and just as I was going to bed, I remembered one vital event... Yesterday, at some point in my tests, the positive cable of the relays touched the negative cable of something else. At that point, since I was checking every cable, I had removed all the insulation from all junctions. So... yeah, a few minutes ago I went and check the fuse again...
So you missed a fuse when you 'checked all the fuses'? Does that mean you turned a 5-minute job into 2 hours or more? I feel for you. Unmodded bikes rule!!
